Minus one star for the credit card surcharge - an incentive for paying cash is not an incentive if the price listed does not include the surcharge! Plus 3.8% is higher than any credit card processor charges! Otherwise... Lovely! Rooftop of the hyatt house, overlooking the ocean with seating outdoor and inside an open walls restaurant / bar area. Food is very good and comes in generous portions. Smoked fish dip is a great way to start. Tasty Caribbean Tuna Bowl and the Thai Shrimp salad. Interesting facts : check comes already tagged by guest if you want to split it.
Here to celebrate with some friends, dance, eat and enjoy the view! It was an amazing sunset and the food was delicious. I had some Yucca Croquettes, and Cod Fish Fritters! Yum, good thing the dancing was happening!!
Went for dinner with my niece on a Thursday night. Walked right in and got a table. Beautiful view, however, it is obstructed to a degree by the building which was a little disappointing. Live music was very relaxing and enjoyable. Food came quickly. We both got tacos- I had carnitas tacos and my niece had chicken tacos both came with chips and mango salsa. The salsa was sooo good- which there were more it! Also ordered empanadas. I wasn’t crazy about them, but they weren’t bad. I’d go back to explore other menu items. Enjoyed the laid back vibe.
Pesca became our spot during our stay at the Hyatt. We found ourselves there almost every day, and a big reason for that was the amazing staff behind the bar. The live music, cocktails, and food were all great, but Marco is what first kept us coming back. She is one of those people who instantly makes you feel welcome. Whether she was making drinks, running the bar, or just chatting with us, she always made the experience fun. She is an incredible bartender and somehow manages to be both highly skilled and genuinely personable at the same time. By the end of our trip, stopping in to see Marco felt like visiting a friend. On our last night, we had the pleasure of meeting Ian, and he was just as fantastic. He was fun to talk to, had great energy, and gave us several recommendations for places to visit around St. Augustine. It was the perfect way to wrap up our trip. The empanadas were delicious, the cocktails were excellent, and the live music always added to the atmosphere. But what made Pesca stand out were the people. Marco and Ian helped make our time in St. Augustine even more memorable, and we'll absolutely be back the next time we're in town.
I love seafood, and after seeing this place on TikTok, I decided to drive 50 minutes to give this place a try for my anniversary. I was looking forward to something new. Initially, I was happy with both the food and the service. The appetizers and drinks were delicious. $130 seafood tower seemed like a great deal, and I was really enjoying it at first. However, I have to leave this review because of one major issue. I know there is always an inherent risk when eating raw seafood, but jeez, can you at least make sure it’s fresh? Initially I noticed the oyster didn’t have that fresh, saltwater brine taste I’m used to with the $200+ seafood towers , but it was still good so I didn't want to complain. Things went downhill when I slurped down about my 6th oyster, clearly bad oyster. At first, I only tasted the horseradish and cocktail sauce, but as soon as I bit down, I was hit with a foul odor and a thick slimy texture which was absolutely nauseating. I had to spit it out and rinse my mouth with water repeatedly, but even after that, the stench lingered. I gulped down my Diet Coke just trying to get the taste out of my mouth and immediately asked for the check. On the way out, I had to burp, caught that same foul smell again, and had to rush to the bathroom because I felt so sick…. I left feeling embarrassed and like I’d completely wasted my money. I’m usually not one to be confrontational, but the whole drive back to Jacksonville, I just kept wishing I had spoken up. Even though I felt like I shouldn't have left a tip at all, the server was very nice, so I ended up giving him $30, which was less than what he deserved. Im sorry for that. I really wanted to leave $0, I’m sharing this because im still pretty upset and pray I don’t end up with food poisoning. It was a pretty rough end to what was supposed to be a special day in st Augustine for our anniversary.
