Beautiful trail. Can go 60+ miles with a few miles of road riding in Palatka if ya wanted. Hoping they finish it up to St Augustine soon. About 20 miles in you can take a short detour to Ravine State Park. Plenty of food and drink options on this trail. BBQ, Breweries, Fast Food. Even a camping spot in Keystone area. Small trailheads dot it as well. Some with water and restrooms, others with just restrooms. Gonna do it end to end one day.

This relatively new rail trail is rapidly becoming fully integrated with the recent completion of the bridge over Deep Creek near Hastings. So nice to experience this area safely on a dedicated rail trail while riding a bicycle! The scenic diversity and rural beauty make for a relaxing yet simultaneously stimulating journey. We look forward to riding here again!
This trail is OK. However be aware it passes behind some rough areas and at one point through what I know to be a pretty bad neighborhood north of Hastings. I ran into a guy on the trail there driving a quad at 60+mph. Stick to daylight hours avoid evening times. Also while it may seem the trail runs all the way to St Austine it doesnt. It dead ends at an abandoned rail siding and an industrial lot of rusting cement trucks. To go the full length you will have to cross the four lane highway several times. Traffic routinely drives 70-85mph on that stretch of road. Not exactly a family friendly design.
What a great and safe trail for walking and biking. The main trail is paved and easy to use. Even crossovers on the highway have controlled lights. We parked north of Elkton and biked South 4 miles to the Armstrong Historic Site and Park. Stipped to see the site of the 1921 community established for black families only. Some historical buildings are still available. A real find mainly available along this trail. The trip is so quiet and peaceful we even met a group of bird watchers enjoying their sport.
Very nice trailhead for the Palatka-St Augustine trail. There's covered picnic tables, restrooms, a water fountain to refill your water bottle, and plenty of parking.
