We came to Othello for a date night to celebrate a little personal milestone, and it ended up being one of those dinners we’ll be talking about for a while. We started with the house-made pita and za’atar alongside the baba ganoush, and I highly recommend ordering both. The pita came out warm and pillowy, and the baba ganoush had just the right amount of smokiness without being too heavy. The fava bean falafel was another standout. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and the sesame, herbs, and pomegranate added so much freshness and texture. Feeling adventurous, we ordered the lamb tartare, which completely exceeded my expectations. It was incredibly well-balanced and one of the most memorable dishes of the night. We also shared the seared octopus, served with ezme and cannellini beans. The octopus was perfectly cooked—tender with a beautiful sear—and the accompaniments made it feel like a complete dish rather than just another appetizer. Beyond the food, what really stood out was the atmosphere. It feels elevated without being stuffy, making it a great spot whether you’re celebrating something special or simply looking for a really nice date night. Service was attentive, friendly, and paced the meal well without ever making us feel rushed. If you’re visiting for the first time, I’d recommend sharing several small plates so you can experience a variety of flavors. Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared, and that’s what made the meal so memorable. We’ll definitely be back to explore more of the menu.
Dinner at Othello - Springfield turned out to be one of those evenings that simply checks every box. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and inviting, and the service throughout the night was attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. For us, it was a solid 10/10 experience. The food and drinks were phenomenal. We started with the Tinned Fish Board, which was beautifully presented and packed with flavor—perfect for sharing and a great way to begin the meal. For the main course, we ordered the braised lamb, and it was absolutely outstanding. The lamb was tender, rich, and cooked to perfection with flavors that truly highlight the heart of Mediterranean cuisine. What makes this place special is how it offers something a little different from the usual dining routine. If you’re craving great Mediterranean flavors or simply want to venture out and try a spot in another part of town, this is definitely a place worth discovering. Everything from the food to the drinks and the service made the evening memorable. We’ll definitely be returning to explore more of the menu. Highly recommended.
Had such a great experience at Othello! We sat out on the patio and loved the atmosphere — the lighting and ambiance made it feel so cozy and cute. We ordered a couple of the ginger gin sparkly drinks along with a few different starters, and every single thing was delicious and very different. The menu has Mediterranean dishes with touches of Spanish and Pakistani influences, which made everything feel unique and full of flavor. I also really loved that most of the menu is designed as shareables, so it was fun trying a variety of different plates together.
We visited Othello for the first time tonight. This place is awesome. Atmosphere is very laid back. Restaurant is very clean!! The service from the hostess, to the bar staff, and especially our waitress was phenomenal. They are very attentive, helpful, and a complete pleasure to be served by. Then there’s the food. We had oysters, whipped feta, lamb shank, and tried all 3 varieties of their bread (which is probably some of the best bread I’ve ever eaten). The feta was creamy and very flavorful, topped with olive oil and Za’atar. The oysters were fresh and the harissa cocktail sauce was perfect. The bread is a family recipe that they fry and then top with either Sea Salt, Za’atar, or Harissa. Dipped in the feta it’s amazing, but then dipped in the jus from the lamb shank, it’s to die for. The lamb shank was perfectly cooked and served with the most delicious rice, a poached pear, and a yummy yogurt sauce. Definitely 5 star and a place you want to put in your list to visit!! Well done Othello!!
