I have been coming to Otaki Japanese Steakhouse since 2020, and it has consistently been one of my favorite restaurants. The atmosphere is always welcoming, upbeat, and perfect for both casual dinners and special occasions. The hibachi experience is fun and interactive, and the chefs truly make each visit memorable. What stands out the most is how accommodating and professional the staff is, especially when I bring large parties. Organizing big groups can sometimes be challenging, but the team handles everything smoothly and with such kindness and patience. They are attentive without being overwhelming and always make sure everyone feels taken care of. The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The portions are generous, and whether it’s hibachi steak and shrimp, fried rice, or sushi, the quality never disappoints. After coming here for years, I can confidently say the service, food, and overall experience have remained consistently excellent. I highly recommend Otaki Japanese Steakhouse to anyone looking for great food, fun vibes, and exceptional hospitality.
I researched "most entertaining Japanese hibachi restaurant in Jacksonville, FL" and this was listed first. The only request my daughter had for her 15th birthday was an entertaining dinner at a hibachi grill. She wanted a shrimp popped in her mouth and singing. Our chef barely spoke. He made the onion fire and did the egg toss and crack.om the side of the spatula twice. That was it. No joking, no conversation, no food tossing, no special birthday treatment even though I told the host that it was her birthday. At the time I told the host it was her birthday, he asked me what I wanted for her and I picked fried ice cream. She got no ice cream and zero acknowledgement of her birthday. I am so disappointed for her. It was the only thing she asked of me this year and even after researching and reading reviews, I couldn't give it to her.
Fantastic service, food and atmosphere. Great for families with children. The servings are very generous and chefs are excellent. Highly recommend!
We came in with a big party. 4 adults and 7 children. From the moment we walked in the host that seated us was very friendly and excited to see.all the children. Our waitress was awesome. Very kind and patient with the kids and so nice. Our cook was so fun with the children as he cooked. Hands down the best japanese restaurant we've been to in about 15 years. We felt so welcomed and we really enjoyed our visit. We will definitely Come again. The food was cooked perfectly and on point. We highly recommend.
Sushi was very good, but the portions of fish in the rolls wasn't very much. Price for the rolls is a bit on the higher end for what you get. Service was mediocre at best until the check came and they wanted to be super friendly to up the tip
