Nestled between buildings and byways downtown, this location offers umbrella covered bistro style seating with a hustle bustle view of mostly return pedestrian patrons at the steady red light green light intersection of Adams and Jefferson. The menu offers a scrumptiously considerate variety of refreshingly original lunch dishes with unique signature flavors (I’m pretty sure this guy makes his own pickles). My go to is El Diablo, but I like the tacos and the wet burrito is a 2 portion meal for me. I hope the Crème brûlée special is still available next time I’m in the area. I can’t drive by On the Fly without stopping!
Its a food truck so seating is outside under some umbrellas or back in your car. Food is delicious. The 2 dudes who work here are super friendly. When I am anywhere near the courthouse during lunch time, I try to go here.
My mom recommended that I visit this food truck, and I’m so glad I listened because it was an amazing experience from start to finish! From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was welcoming and the service was friendly and genuine. You can really tell they care about their customers and take pride in what they do. I ordered the nachos, and honestly, they were some of the best I’ve ever had. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly put together. The portions were generous, the toppings were well-balanced, and every bite was just as good as the last. You can taste the quality and effort that goes into the food, which is something that really stands out. What made the experience even better was how kind and patient everyone was with my family, especially my mom. That level of customer service doesn’t go unnoticed and truly makes a difference. It felt more like being welcomed by friends than just ordering food. I will absolutely be coming back again and will be recommending this food truck to others. If you’re thinking about stopping by, don’t hesitate—you won’t be disappointed. Great food, great people, and an all-around great experience!
I've been a patron of On the Fly for years! It's still my favorite food truck. The consistency is unmatched. Chef Andrew is always polite, friendly, and welcoming. I've never had a bad item on the menu in all these years. The food is so good and always made with the freshest ingredients. The other day, I went and grabbed some shrimp tacos, and they were amazing as usual. Best shrimp tacos in the whole city, and I stand on that. I managed to snap a pic before I devoured them. I also included a pic of the sweet potato planks from a previous visit. Everything is just so delicious 😋 Don't hesitate to pay him a visit. They're open Monday - Friday, from 11 AM - 3:00 (ish) PM.
Best Taco truck in Jacksonville! I order the pulled pork tacos! If I’m spoiling myself I also add an order of the black and bleu cheese chips! So good every time!!
