A long time resident and friend from this area recommended this mechanic shop and let me tell you I am so glad he did. This shop is HONEST and RELIABLE and they are fast without comprising workmanship. I even recommend my friend who has a fleet of vehicles use them and he did with excellent results also. I am no stranger to auto mechanics (72 years old) and built several street rods, so when I see quality workmanship, I recognize it. No one else will ever work on my vehicle. Thank you Johnny and Shafer .
Shop tried for 2 days to find fix for my transmission issues on 2017 Nissan Titan. Realized it was above their ability to correctly diagnosed and referred me to a reliable transmission service . Kudos to Shafer for discounting labor hours. Expected to pay $1,500 and was presented bill for $300! They are straight shooters who care about their customers and go out of there way to fix issues with cars. My go to shop for my cars and friends that I have referred. Sometimes a poor outcome isn’t terrible !
While they are always really nice and have fair prices, they have consistently broken/overtightened lug nuts on my car which has become an issue twice when I had to have a second mechanic fix my car's tires. They also failed to identify a leak on 3 of my tires after I'd taken it in twice. These instances led to extra costs to replace broken lug nuts, ubers, and time spent on having a leaky tire fixed.
I cannot say enough about the Oldham family and their shop! I have been taking all of my cars to them for 8 years and never had an issue. Fair pricing and great service. I moved to Jacksonville and still drive down for them. 10/10 recommended.
I requested a quote to replace the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor on my 2019 Nissan Rogue Sport. The shop quoted $388.65 for the OEM sensor, $80 labor, plus $199 for "reprogramming the module," for a total of $744.15. As someone who works on cars myself, I know that a MAF sensor is plug-and-play on this vehicle and does not require any programming. The "reprogramming" they quoted usually just means driving the car around to recalibrate the computer, which takes minutes, yet they charged $200 for it. When I spoke on the phone with a representative who gave the name "Trevor," he said the reprogramming might not even be needed, but they wouldn't know until after doing the work. To me, this interaction felt untrustworthy. He also used jargon unnecessarily to make it sound more complicated than it is, something any reputable mechanic shop should avoid. The labor to replace the sensor is typically 5-10 minutes, and the part can be purchased OEM (Nissan factory) for ~$230-$250. My advice: get a second opinion or buy the part yourself to save hundreds of dollars.
