I am writing to express my concern regarding a recent phone call with your office at 9:23 AM this morning. I contacted your practice to schedule an appointment because I am experiencing symptoms that I believe may be related to a pinched nerve. Rather than simply scheduling my appointment or explaining that the doctor would need to evaluate me first, the receptionist stated that she was “not sure a chiropractor would do me any good” because chiropractors “don’t treat pinched nerves.” This response was both inappropriate and unprofessional. Receptionists are an important part of a medical practice, but they are not licensed to determine whether a patient is or is not a candidate for evaluation or treatment. Those decisions belong to the doctor after obtaining a history, performing an examination, and determining the appropriate course of care. Statements like these have the potential to discourage patients from seeking an evaluation and can result in your practice losing patients before they ever have the opportunity to consult with the physician. Whether chiropractic treatment is appropriate for my condition should be determined by the doctor—not by a receptionist over the telephone. As a healthcare professional myself, I understand the importance of staying within one’s scope of practice. It is concerning when non-clinical staff provide what could be interpreted as medical advice or make statements that influence a patient’s healthcare decisions. I hope this matter is addressed through additional training so that future patients receive appropriate guidance. A more appropriate response would have been to explain that the doctor would first evaluate my condition to determine whether chiropractic care was indicated or, if not, refer me to the appropriate provider. Thank you for taking the time to review my concerns. I trust you will address this matter to ensure future patients receive a professional and patient-centered experience.
This place is amazing. The entire staff is extremely professional and treated me quite well. The treatments have helped with my lower back, and I am hoping that it will reduce my pain for the long term. They gave me several treatment options, and I typically stayed with the ones that seemed to be the most helpful.

This facility is wonderful and has a geat staff! They really care about your well being and do everything they can to help. Dr.Deweese is multifaceted and provides different types of services including but not limited to: Chiropractic care and treatment of Auto Accident & Work Related injuries. The alternative medicine aspect of this practice is a great addition! Offering Acupuncture, Facial Rejuvenation & Oriental Medicine. These services are of particular interest due to the fact that you are in an environment that is run and overseen by a medical professional. Having never tried acupuncture prior to visiting here, Dr. Deweese (who is the acupuncturist) made me feel safe, comfortable and confident I was in good hands. I cannot say enough good thing about this office! Dr. DeWeese and the office staff are very welcoming, friendly and professional. They are knowledgeable and make you feel at ease. I have a very large service dog and they welcome him with open arms. I look forward to my appointments. There have been days that I would not have gotten out of bed if it wasn’t to go to my appointment. Dr. DeWeese listens to you, understands how your body works and what’s going to help. My hips have been functioning better since I’ve been going to this clinic. I am so glad I was sent to Northside Chiropractic for care!
