Boat & Marine
205 West Davis Industrial Drive, St. Augustine
I took my boat after researching mechanics in the area. After speaking with Steve and the owner on the phone, I was confident that these guys would help me with my issues. I had to have some trailer work done and some electrical work and they got it fixed almost immediately for me. I haven't dealt with a business that has this level of customer service in quite some time. I also do not write reviews for hardly anyone but I felt these guys definitely deserve one. I had to bring my boat back in with another concern that they fixed for me without even charging me. You just can't beat the work ethic from these guys. Again, GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE and I would recommend these guys to anyone. It's worth the drive to their location if you are in Jacksonville. If you're closer, even better.
I am a small boat owner and took my skiff in for annual service and some idling issues. I was charged over $400 and the choke pull out knob was not properly reattached to the carb assembly. It took a while to reschedule an appointment to correct that and I stood around for an hour before the mechanic finished his lunch and fixed that issue. I then began having engine issues with poor idling and acceleration and very hard starting, even when warm on the water. I rescheduled a follow up and when I brought the boat in they told me they had a government job and would be out of town for a week. I rescheduled for this morning and was told by the mechanic to arrive at 7:30 am. When a I arrived a new person approached me and said he was the new owner, but the they had another government job before they could even look at my boat. I asked why I was told to arrive as 7:30 and the new owner said they don't even open till 8 am and walked away. The mechanic said something 'came up' that he had no control over. I told him he lost a customer and he said 'fine!". This company does not honor appointments, charges extravagant rates and does sloppy work. Do NOT bring you boat to them for any services.
NBK Maintenance does an outstanding job in maintaining my 29' Proline. They are honest and will give you the best price for your repairs and upgrades. They have the lowest rates in the area. Their mechanics are factory trained, knowledgeable, and friendly.
Long story short we made the trip boat in tow from Maine..stopped in Georgia for gas and I checked the steering on our center console boat it was seized up. After several phone calls and being told a week to ten days wait we received a call from NBK and we didn't leave a message. They got us in and fixed it in short order! Can't say enough good things about this outfit!!
