I’ve been a patient of Dr yumals for over 9 years. I’ve had Kelly get rude with me on more than one occasion but I’ve brushed it off. I called early one morning to see if I could switch appointments that day with my daughter who was going to see her because I was having extreme issues with my meds and she acted like it was an inconvience. Later on that day unfortunately due to traffic I was not able to make it. She once again sounded like I inconvienced her. She reminded me of the no show fee. I asked her if they could work with me. I’ve never been late nor missed an appointment. She proceeded to tell me if it was up to her she would say no because it’s policy. I was on the verge of tears. All I needed was a little compassion and she could not even show me that. Then it came time to book another appointment. You would have thought I was asking for the world. I kept asking for anything after 4. She kept giving me options of 3 pm, 3:15. It sounded to me like she was being rude on purpose. So I took what ever she gave me and I hung up. I have never ever had issues with any of the other ladies who work there but her. I’m sad to leave to have made this decision because Dr. Yumal is a very caring, kind and just an all around amazing doctor. However I’m excited to not ever have to speak to kelly again. And now I fully understand where everyone else is coming from who made reviews talking about her office staff. It’s sad because they are a direct reflection of her. I don’t really think she wants that.
The receptionist was extremely rude to me when I called to schedule as a new patient. As I was attempting to explain what happened with a previous appointment at a different clinic she began talking to me like I was a child and raising her voice as if I was ignorant. I understood fully what she was saying and I still needed more clarification but instead she was being a jerk. This is not how you offer customer service to ANYONE. It’s unfortunate that with my federal insurance she is refusing to see me because I once was seen by her at a clinic almost 3 yrs ago she no longer works for. Im appalled at the woman’s behavior.
My daughter was a patient of Dr Yumal and asa. Minor / teenager they only feel comfortable with certain Dr to speak about mental health well Dr Yumal left where we were seeing her and she said we could google to find where she moved to and I did . Just called today and Dr Yumal will not see my daughter nor any other patients from previous office . Well if that isn’t a mental breakdown and isn’t she suppose to treat mental health . The office staff very rude just that she won’t see her . If a girl or any teenager only wants to talk about anxiety with someone they feel comfortable with but the Dr only wants what’s best for her and not what is best for the girl . Very sad that mental health Dr do this to patients . I’m so disappointed when you told us to look you up if we wanted to follow you and now you don’t care per front desk staff . Don’t go here
*update already: I realized I had another appt on the books in February, so I called to cancel that one. I asked to cancel, same front office lady said they were, I asked for an email confirmation so I don’t get another “no show” fee, she said they don’t have an email (lie I found one) I asked if there was anyone else to speak with, she said no. So she is the only person …? It’s like a gatekeeper for medical help. Very strange. I wish I could have been seen, but since the appointment time was listed incorrectly in their system, I was not. And they are asking me to pay a no show fee of $150. My appt time was 2:30, I arrived at 2:00. They said my appt was at 10:30 and I wouldn’t been seen. Mind you, the front office lady said “we thought this might happen”. So if you thought there was a misunderstanding, then why not confirm? You are just going to sit back and let them miss the appt? They have no phone recordings, text messages, emails, or any type of appt confirmation to fall back on to show when my appt time actually was, so it’s my word against their’s. How convenient. I have been working the courage up for years to be seen, and then waited months to get the appt, and then this happens. I’m curious how many people get caught up in the “no show scam”. There is a reason people get seen by a psychiatrist, but let’s just add $150 fee for an appt I showed up for, yet you already knew I would miss.
Cannot speak highly enough of Dr. Yumul and the whole practice. I had another appointment that caused me to miss my initial appointment and they managed to fit me in. The most kind and understanding front desk staff. Dr. Yumul herself is amazing and so helpful!!
