There were some pretty rude people (including an executive director of the group) trying to throw a veteran out of the Juneteenth event, which is outdoors on public property, for holding a sign saying "God Bless The Homeless Vets". Absolutely disgusting behavior from this community. They called the Sheriff's to try to kick him out too, but they couldn't do anything cuz it's legal to stand on the street with a sign
I was so excited about being in the parade that I put in two applications to participate. Dawn was nice enough to inform me of my mix up. Having tourettes I'll get overwhelmed until I'll do a process more than once. Much appreciation for taking the time to let me know what happened. Was here for the black rodeo event, even with a little rain here and there it was a great place and lots of great vendors and food trucks.
Excellent food, vendors, performances and just beautiful Melanin people walking, eating,laughing and enjoying the atmosphere
