Matt Borer, Ph.D Marriage and Family Therapist

I have been seeing Dr. Borer for years now. Over the years I have never once had a complaint about him and have found that he is consistently professional, kind, and caring. I like that he is not judgmental or stuck up in anyway even though he has an impressive educational background. He’s a cool guy that will help guide you in the right direction or if you just need someone to talk to with zero judgment. Update! It’s 2023, five years since I wrote the review, and he’s still the greatest! I truly cannot recommend him enough. He cares about his clients. I use zoom because I’m a hermit and busy at times, and he still remembers details I forgot from years prior. It’s been a healing journey and I have to attribute a lot of my success to our sessions

Save your marriage by staying away! ! Matt was recommended to my ex-wife by a female friend. She saw him weekly while I was in afghanistan. When i returned home, my second co-appointment with her and him was an absolute disaster that you should all know about. I had a new sleeve tattoo, and we were discussing it in therapy. At that point Matt felt it was appropriate to take off his jacket undo his tie and remove his shirt in the middle of our marriage counseling session. He then began to show off his two sleeves and other hidden tattoos. Even after seeing me become visually uncomfortable, he continued to show off. We ended the session. I asked my wife if we could find someone else. She refused. Our marriage ended shortly after. I have reason to believe that they continued to have a non-professional relationship after our divorce. Obviously, these are simply my experiences and opinions. But I thought others should know the truth. The majority of his reviews are from women. And now it has become painfully obvious to me why. Trust your gut. Not a male marriage counselor that charges you for him to undress in front of your wife. Find a therapist who provides and helps nurture a safe and professional environment.

Dr. Borer helped me through one of the darkest times in my life, and is continuing to be a great outlet to help me with the hurdles life continues to throw at me. He is incredibly understanding, has an amazing set of views, and always makes sure to help you see the light at the end of the tunnel. I would definitely recommend him as council of you are seeking help. An amazing Dr. as well as a friend - he will help you to find the answers you seek.

Matt has set the bar to the highest in what I would expect from a therapist. Matt is honest, easy to talk with and provides excellent feedback and direction while focusing on his clients long term goals and well being. Helping guide clients to happiness and success in life. He has helped me navigate through difficult and stressful life circumstances. I appreciate his candor humor and friendship. He is the best!! Good for the soul.
