Little Biddy Diner

I ended up at Little Biddy Diner almost by accident, and I’m glad I did. I was making a delivery from Jacksonville to Macclenny and had never really spent any time in the area. The people I was delivering to recommended this place, so I figured I’d give it a shot. As soon as I sat down, Kaz came over, got my drink, and made me feel welcome. I told her I was from Jacksonville, had never eaten here before, and asked what I should order. She gave me a few suggestions, and finally I just told her, “Surprise me. I eat anything.” She definitely understood the assignment. 😂 She brought me this absolutely loaded breakfast bowl with cheese and grits on the bottom, eggs, bacon, sausage, and enough food piled on top that I probably should’ve taken a nap afterward. Great breakfast and a great recommendation. But what really stood out to me was the atmosphere. I grew up around diners in New Jersey and New York, and after driving through all 48 continental states, I’ve eaten in more diners, truck stops, roadside restaurants, and little hometown spots than I could ever count. Little Biddy Diner has that old-school hometown feeling that you just can’t manufacture. There was a regular sitting beside me working on his laptop. He ordered a double cheeseburger with an egg on top, and I was already thinking I might have to come back just to try that. 😂 There were firefighters eating breakfast, locals coming and going, and the ladies working were talking to people like they’d known them forever. You hear “baby” and “honey,” people know each other, and nobody feels like a stranger for very long. That’s what a real hometown diner is supposed to feel like. Huge shout-out to Kaz for taking care of me and picking my breakfast. The entire staff was friendly, the food was great, and the place has character you don’t find everywhere anymore. If I’m back in Macclenny, I’m absolutely stopping again. Next time I’m trying something different off the menu... although letting Kaz surprise me again might be the move. Five stars from RoboAce.
