I was super impressed with this company. The movers were very friendly and efficient. I had them pack my kitchen and they did a better job than I would have done. The pricing was fair, especially given that they took extra steps to protect my doorways and floors. It was honestly one of the least stressful moves I have experienced. Would highly recommend!!
I hired Lighthouse Movers to complete my relocation from San Diego, California to St. Augustine, Florida, and my experience reflects serious negligence, lack of communication, and failure to disclose known damage. Before the move, I provided a full description of my household goods and relied on their professional assurance that the truck size would fit everything. On moving day, the truck was being filled without giving me any opportunity to decide which items should be loaded or left behind. I walked outside and saw them closing the truck while valuable items were still in my garage, forcing me to give property away on Facebook Marketplace and suffer avoidable financial loss. My belongings were stored from approximately December 6th through December 31st. When delivery occurred, the crew began unloading without any warning that my property had been damaged. Boxes were soaking wet, molded, and filled with mold. Clothes had mold all over them, furniture showed clear water damage, and many household items were contaminated and falling apart. The condition was extremely disgusting and demonstrated a lack of reasonable care. When Doug Sheffield arrived to collect the remaining payment, he did not disclose any damage until I confronted him. Only then did he admit he discovered the water damage the day the truck was unloaded into their storage unit, yet he never notified me during the 20 plus days my belongings sat there worsening. He claimed a Penske claim had been filed, but after contacting Penske myself, I learned no claim was submitted. I was left to handle the process alone while dealing with preventable loss, stress, and a clear lack of honesty and accountability. Damages was a total $6K.
Outstanding experience with LightHouse Movers from start to finish. Doug Sheffield runs a first-class operation and was excellent to work with throughout the entire move process. Communication was professional, responsive, and fair every step of the way. One of the biggest advantages was that they were able to drop off boxes prior to the move at no additional cost, which allowed us to get a jumpstart on packing and streamline the entire relocation process. That level of planning and customer service really sets them apart. David, the Operations Director, was also great to work with — organized, responsive, and professional throughout scheduling and coordination. You can tell this company understands logistics, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Highly recommend LightHouse Movers to anyone looking for a professional, well-managed moving operation.

When I called just a week before our move, Doug was able to schedule a truck and a crew of three on short notice, which immediately gave us peace of mind. Doug is incredibly fair, honest, and easy to work with. The first crew handled our move out of our home and into a storage unit. They arrived on time, were professional and communicative throughout the process, and took great care in packing and handling all of our belongings. A few weeks later, we worked with Austin, Justin, and José to move everything from storage into our new home. Despite a last-minute scheduling change on our end, Doug went above and beyond to accommodate us—literally moving heaven and earth to make it happen. He provided two trucks and a full crew, ensuring our move-in went smoothly. The team worked tirelessly from 10 AM to 10 PM with incredible efficiency and positive attitudes the entire day. They were kind, helpful, and handled every item with care, placing each box exactly where it belonged. They also reassembled all of our furniture without issue. What stood out most was their work ethic—they barely took breaks, and when they did, it was only a few minutes to hydrate and catch their breath before getting right back to it. Lighthouse Movers is an exceptional company. Doug and his crew truly care about their clients and the quality of their work. We would absolutely recommend them to anyone in need of a reliable, hardworking, and trustworthy moving company.
