I have to say in the sub world Larry's is a very close second to Jersey Mike's., and the winner if you are looking fir more variety. Great bread, great cold cuts great servic. They are clean and fresh. I would try Larry's and see what you think.
Love this Larry’s location! We have other Larry’s closer to us but we always go to this location because it’s the best one in the Jacksonville area. The staff is always so friendly and remembers our names and how we like our orders made! Everything here is always so fresh, fast and delicious! I can’t recommend this Larry’s location enough if you’re in the mood for a sub or salad! UPDATE! Great for catering, also! For my Mother’s Day/Birthday party, we had Larry’s on Old St. Augustine Road cater our lunch. We got the party platter that served 10-15 people and it was perfect for our pool party! I asked for a mix of different types of subs and everyone loved them! We asked for pick up at 11:00am (when they open) and everything was fresh and delicious! They gave us individual containers of Italian dressing and mayonnaise so the sandwiches wouldn’t be soggy and everyone could put on how much or how little they wanted. Don’t forget to tip the sandwich makers! They make sure everything is perfect and delicious!
I have come here what feels like over 100 times over the years. Up until today, it had been nothing but great. However today was not the same. I'm unsure if the management has changed, but "John" who appeared to be the manager ruined todays experience. Initially the gentleman who was taking our order was very pleasant, but in the middle of our order the manager stepped up with a sour attitude. As we finished our order I asked for a military discount, which has never been an issue before off of my entire order for my family. I watched as he changed the combo from my meal... which i ordered for myself and put it on my son's... who got a more expensive sandwich but no combo. And put the discount only on my sandwich and not on the entire order. I get it. Times are hard and I'm privileged to have the money to eat out and to have a discount in the first place. But this just felt shady bc no one has ever done this before and he did it with a rude attitude. The sandwich were amazing as usual, but super disappointed in the man in the green shirt. Do better. If you don't want to give discounts to military, then don't. But if you do, do it with honor every time.
I went to Larry’s today 5/23/26 around 2pm. The service was very dry and not welcoming. While still being nice I still left a tip in the can. My problem came when they made my Philly Cheesesteak Boss Man sandwich! They made it so sloppy and all the toppings were smushed together. I do not appreciate the attitude when asked to remake it. The service and food was very unacceptable and I don’t appreciate it at all! I hope you all can do better in the future.
Been going to Larry’s giant sub since they opened when I was a teenager 35 years ago. If you’re expecting Larry’s giant sub, this is not the place to go for some reason. Their subs are not the same as all the other ones they don’t toast the bread long enough the way they layer the meat and vegetables is different has not even close to being the same. And they charge a dollar more for their sandwiches than all the rest.
