A Truly Disappointing experience I would actually suggest going next door and getting the Publix sushi over this it was that bad. I've left very, very few one-star reviews in my time as a food critic and high-ranked Google Guide, so I do feel somewhat bad leaving this. However, some things go too far to be saved. This was for my brother's birthday, and I wanted it to be special. Instead, it turned into a genuinely bad experience that cost us about $70 for two people—and for what we got, it was way too much. If the food quality had been higher, I would understand the price, but it was far from it. The Food Quality Spoiled Fish: The "fresh" tuna smelled off and was very much old; it tasted horrible. Another one of the sushi options just tasted foul and like very old fish, and I actually had to spit it out. Poor Preparation The fried sushi was super oily and didn't taste good at all. The Comparison The majority of the sushi was below Publix sushi level. We could have gotten much better food next door at Publix for a quarter of the price. The Verdict on the Kitchen: Kingdom Sushi genuinely needs to raise their standards and possibly fire the cook. That might sound drastic, but 90% of our food wasn't just "not great"—it was actually quite bad. They also urgently need to stop using old fish to save money. Service & Atmosphere Slow Pace: The food took forever. I got the all-you-can-eat option, and it was 15+ minutes between each item. Inattentive Waitstaff The waiter saw our empty waters and didn't offer to fill them, so we had to specifically ask him two different times to do it. The second time we asked, he said, "Sure, just a moment," but then disappeared into the back for 10 minutes. Lack of Basic Care: He didn't clear dirty plates between items, never asked to take them, and was barely attentive to us. He never once asked how anything was. Cleanliness & Vibe: The aesthetic of the restaurant is nice, but they have the music playing way too loudly. The restaurant was quite clean overall, but there was some dried-out rice on our table. While understandable since it's easy to miss, it's still something they should be attentive to. Final Thoughts I am genuinely so disappointed in this place. They are likely going to respond to this review asking me to contact customer service to help them improve, but my advice right here is this: Service comes above EVERYTHING else. It's the first thing people see and notice in a restaurant, and it leaves the biggest impression. Above all, be VERY careful with your fish, and don't use old fish to save money.
Unsure how anyone dislikes this place. Second date night here and we are obsessed. Tonight we lucked out and they were doing a buy one get one all you can eat! Lucas was our server and he didn’t miss a beat with service. It was impressive to watch with the amount of tables he was handling.
We had an amazing experience at Kingdom Sushi! The food was absolutely delicious — everything was fresh, incredibly flavorful, and very well prepared. Honestly, every single thing we tried was amazing! A special shoutout to Lucas São Paulo. He made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived, explained everything really well, helped us with our choices, and was incredibly kind, polite, and attentive. His service definitely made our experience even better. I highly recommend Kingdom Sushi to anyone looking for great sushi, amazing flavors, and excellent service. We’ll definitely be back! And Lucas, thank you for taking such great care of us! 👏🍣
Kingdom Sushi is one of the worst sushi places I’ve been to. Took 20 minutes for anyone to ask if I’m ready to order. I didn’t order much 4 rolls and 1 appetizer. It took 30 minutes for 1 roll to come out. Then the two other rolls came out 10-15min after the first roll. They were still missing one more roll and thats not even considering the appetizer didn’t come out yet. Not once did the beverages get refilled. The sushi rolls I ordered for myself are supposed to have eel on it. It had 1 piece of eel on a single piece of sushi. Its like when you go to an AYCE and they have massive pieces of fried chicken but its 99% breading and 1% chicken. The only redeeming factor is that the server and hostess discounted the total. bill.
If you haven’t been to Sushi Kingdom in Jacksonville, FL, tucked right in the St. Johns Town Center next to Publix, you’re seriously missing out on one of the most unique and unforgettable dining experiences in the city. Sushi Kingdom isn’t just another sushi spot—it’s a full-on fusion experience. This place blends Japanese, Asian, and Brazilian influences into dishes that are as creative as they are delicious. Every plate feels like a chef’s masterpiece, combining vibrant flavors, bold textures, and imaginative sauces in ways you can’t find anywhere else. What Sushi Kingdom truly represents is passion. Passion for food, for artistry, for cultural fusion, and for giving guests something they can’t get anywhere else. It’s a restaurant that doesn’t just serve meals—it delivers an experience. The quality of the food is honestly next-level. Fresh fish, beautifully cut. Perfectly seasoned rice. Crisp vegetables. Rich, flavor-packed sauces. And their specialty rolls? They taste like someone took the best parts of Japanese mastery and Brazilian flair and fused them into pure magic. But the wildest part? The price doesn’t match the quality. In fact, it almost feels unfair to the restaurant how much value you get. The portions are generous, the ingredients are premium, and you walk out feeling like you just had a high-end, chef-driven meal for a cost that’s way too reasonable for what you receive. Sushi Kingdom has become my absolute favorite place to eat—period. Whether you’re craving sushi, Asian fusion, Japanese classics, or Brazilian-inspired flavor combinations, you’re going to find something here that blows you away. If you want fresh, creative, unforgettable food with unmatched value, head to Sushi Kingdom at the Town Center. Every visit feels like discovering your new favorite dish all over again. 🙏🏽
