What an incredible collection! Many letters from highly influential Spanish and American figures throughout Floridaian and American history. One dating back to the 1500's! The back section has a couple fossils, Russian Space Program Artifacts, and drawings from Disney and Star Trek. A little bit of something for everyone!
Currently under remodeling so won’t be opening anytime soon, but the miniature FREE museum is located across the way and down the hall with all the 24 shops.
This is a wonderful addition to St. Augustine. In an area filled with museums and attractions this FREE Manuscript Museum has so much to offer. A wonderful collection of historic letters, original drawings and sketches, and even a space suit that went to space. There is a beautiful cover lanai in the back which will be great for small weddings and books signings etc. Welcome to the neighborhood
While just walking around the historic district late night, we stumbled upon this mini museum of historical documents. This is truly a gem for the entire community. Take some time to look at this art and read these letters from back in the day - when the handwritings are now considered a font. Beautiful and noteworthy. Pun intended.
It is quite a surreal experience bumping into this mini museum after touring the Castillo de San Marcos- a place has witnessed a lot of "blood, tears and sweat" since 1672. Karpeles Manuscript Library Mini Museum is a true testament of "The pen is mightier than a sword".
