The place itself looks really nice, lots of rooms, even one with a gaming setup, so the vibe is great. But we had to wait quite a while for someone to actually show up at the bar, which was a bit annoying. And the kava… honestly super weak. Didn’t feel a thing.
I arrived from the back and the door was closed, however, I peeked in and saw a mysterious room with dim lighting and a painting that caught my attention. I decided to go in and even though it was late, the barista greeted us. I ordered a cold brew that was not bad and my wife had a chai latte that was not spectacular but was not bad either. The best thing is the spot, ideal for some epic photos.
The Kava Kafe is one of Saint Augustine’s true hidden gems. From the moment you walk in, the vibe is relaxed, welcoming, and genuinely community-driven. The kava and teas are top-notch, smooth, well-crafted, and served by staff who actually care about what they’re pouring and who they’re pouring it for. It’s the kind of place where conversations happen naturally, creativity flows, and you instantly feel like a regular, even on your first visit. Whether you’re looking to unwind, meet interesting people, or just enjoy a calm, soulful atmosphere, The Kava Kafe nails it every time. A must-visit spot in the neighborhood.
Cozy place to have a nice cup of coffee or cappuccino and relax away from a lot of people. The shop is misleading and seems small from the outside but once you get inside there's plenty of rooms to sit in and a spacious backyard to sit at. Overall this place looks like a hidden gem.
The coffee was terrible, tasted like straight milk. There was multiple people sitting in the main room day trading while I was trying to order and it seriously ruined the “cozy” atmosphere. The barista was kind but that was pretty much the only good thing about the place. would NOT recommend.
