Good first visit. The service was efficient and friendly from check-in to check-out.My time with the doctor was fairly short, and i left feeling it was a bit more focused on volume than personalized care. That said, the staff was professional and the overall experience was smooth.
My wife and I had been seeing a Baptist cardiologist for five years. For four of those years. My wife had been in heart failure and that was never mentioned or treated. Complete medical neglect. She started having significant symptoms and the guy did not order tests, just threw pills at her. After two appointments and three phone calls with his nurse, we decided we needed a doc who would pay attention. So we turned to Dr. Ramirez. He quickly ran appropriate testing and declared my wife to be in serious heart failure. He started her on protocol meds and has been following her closely. I began to think that maybe I needed some additional diagnostic testing since I had a cardiac cath four years ago, was diagnosed with two 30% blockages and never treated or followed up. You can guess the rest of this. Dr. Ramirez jumped right in and ordered appropriate testing , and you can guess the rest. Dr. Ramirez listens, is extremely knowledgeable, involves the patient in the plan, is approachable, compassionate, and has a sense of humor. We cannot recommend him highly enough. He saved my wife's life.
Dr. Ramirez was very kind and attentive. I needed to get a clearance for stomach surgery. I had the results of my latest lab work and reports of recent images done. He reviewed the results of all these tests and also my surgical history and medication list. I did receive my clearance. His staff immediately faxed a copy of the clearance to my surgeon and gave me a copy of it as well. I would recommend Dr. Ramirez to anyone needing a cardiologist.
It was very nice meeting Dr. Ramirez. It was all about getting clearance for upcoming surgery. I was relieved knowing he gave it to me. However, he feels I need to proceed with a cardiologist. I struggle going to Riverside so he is recommending I see one of his partners at St. Vincent at Southside which is closer to my home. I'm hoping they will make me as comfortable as he did.
The Dr. was fine. But it’s pretty concerning that you schedule cardiac tests over a month out. Is this not taken serious? What if I walked out and dropped dead because there is not any sort of urgency? Very concerning about the level of care that you are giving. I would like to reiterate that this doesn’t reflect the Dr. he was good.
