I saw a tik tok about this place and decided to try it so I can determine if the hype is valid. I wanted to try the jerk ribs so bad. I had never been to this place before so I didnt know what to expect. The lady taking orders was very nice and answered all my questions with care. She made good suggestions. Keep in mind I arrived during the lunch rush about 2pm so i would be eligible for the lunch specials. However I ended up ordering a medium jerk rib meal with cabbage and rice and beans off the regular menu. They told me it was a 30 minute wait for ribs and I agreed and waited in my car. While waiting in the car I decided I also wanted jerk chicken because i could smell it when i ordered and was feeling greedy 😋. So i got the $9.99 jerk chicken lunch special because it was a smaller portion with 2 different sides. As a result, I was able to try 4 different sides with both meals. Rasta pasta, rice and beans, plantains and cabbage. I ordered the lunch special via the doordash app as a pickup order because they dont charge fees and i didnt want to get out the car and order at the window. Ironically the jerk rib meal and the jerk chicken lunch special was ready for pickup at the same time. I ate the chicken first. The jerk chicken is so tender and flavorful. The rasta pasta was surprisingly good. I did not have good expectations for the pasta but that rasta pasta surprised me. Now I only got a few plantains with the lunch special and they were just OK. Not sweet at all. NEXT ...the jerk rib dinner I ate later for actual dinner. The ribs are really good when you eat them with the homemade BBQ sauce. Thank God she gave me a 2nd cup of it because I needed it. The rice and beans are decent but that cabbage was amazing and seasoned to perfection. My favorite of all the sides. Overall I think the food and customer service was great. I would definitely come back for that lunch special. It's a great deal. My only negative comment is that they need to sell smaller portions of meat a la cart. It would be nice to add one or 2 ribs to the lunch special for $5 more bucks or to a meal.
UPDATE: February 12, 2026 Hey Fam. My favorite food truck in Jax moved. You can find them down the street at 4329 Blanding. That yummy "bbq" sauce is still available Just ask ALMA! She'll take care of you. They do catering too! Definitely would be perfect for a "Cook-Out", family reunion. Brought my right hand gal, Stella. She may have had a bite..lol Ordered the Lrg. dinner. Jerk chicken, Rasta Pasta and cabbage. Definitely more than enough for 2 ppl. Added a banana pudding for dessert. It's homemade, I had to! They're on DoorDash, Uber Eats, ect for delivery. Enjoy the new pics & video. Big shout out to Alma who delivers amazing customer service 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 Food truck that makes the best BBQ chicken ever! They call it Jerk Chicken. It taste like old school BBQ chicken that was cooked outside on a charcoal grill. I've searched for real charcoal brick cooked food for years. Secret.. there's a squeeze bottle of a red colored sauce just outside the service window to your left. It's self serve with to-go ramkins. Taste like that "hood" sauce your uncle used to make and then mopped the ribs with as he cooked. Kind of like the original Open Pit🔥🔥🔥. For your sides get the Rasta Pasta. Chile it's soooooo good! Taste like yo granny's Thanksgiving Mac & Cheese. Honestly, everything taste like homemade soul food. Next, try the cabbage. They must keep it hot on the grill because i could taste that yummy BBQ flavor. Seasoned to perfection with a hint of heat. Lastly, choose the rice & beans for your base. It's perfect. I heard other folks ordering the oxtail dinner. Haven't tried them yet, but I will soon. Don't forget the homemade banana pudding if you can snatch one. It was sold out on my last visit. My large chicken dinner was under $23. It included 2 leg quarters on the bed of rice with 1 side. Definitely enough to feed 2 people. Cheaper than McDonald's. Thank me later...lol
IFor years my coworkers and I had been eating at Jambro's for a couple of years both the old Prichard location as well as the Westside. I don't know what happened with this new ownership and new people?The FOOD & SERVICE has since declined to the lowest form. They open at 11am, I arrive at 11:45 and they have no Jerk Chicken or Salmon ready and this happened my last 3 attempts to get food. They do not seem to care about customer satisfaction and more of a take it or leave it mentality and I'm choosing the latter! Our favorite place to eat has turned into a joke at work! 1-15-2026 gave Jambros another chance and the results were worse than ever. We received child size portions to say the least, chicken was extremely dry and possibly from the day before. I called and spoke to a Manager he asked for pictures and promised to get back with me. He never did. Look at the pictures of the food I ordered and tell me what you think. For you the owner to respond with a LIE stating that you take ownership itself is a LIE when I personally called and spoke with you on 1-15-2026 about the less than 1/2 portions that you sold me, sent you pictures and never heard back from you! So you standing behind your product and service is a LIE.
I came in to purchase a couple of plates for my family. We live in a small country town and I work inside the city And decided to stop by on my way home. My first experience wasn’t all that great but they rectified the issue. They are very friendly and assisting me with anything and Was open to feedback. I would definitely recommend them if anyone’s in town looking for good Caribbean food.
I've been eating here for about 3+ years now. They have the Best Oxtails & Rasta pasta!!! The staff are great always friendly/ polite. Never rude
