I’ve eaten Jamaican food at a lot of places over the years, but Island Spice Grill is honestly the best I’ve ever had. From the first bite, I could tell everything was fresh, well-seasoned, and made with care. The flavors were incredible and reminded me of authentic home-cooked Caribbean food. The jerk chicken was perfectly cooked, juicy, smoked and packed with flavor. Every side dish complemented the meal perfectly. What really stood out to me was the consistency and the friendly service. They make you feel welcome and appreciated every time you visit. If you’re in Jacksonville and driving along Beach Boulevard near I-295, do yourself a favor and stop by Island Spice Grill. This food truck is a hidden gem, and I’ll definitely be coming back again and again. Highly recommended!

The food here at Island Spice Grill truly tastes like love went into making it. My wife had the brown stew chicken, and myself and my sister-in-law had the jerk chicken. The food was delicious and the staff was friendly. Chef D even took the time to give us samples of the Jerk chicken fresh off the grill, and even gave us some knowledge on what it takes to make such good Jerk chicken. Next time we come back down to Jacksonville will definitely be coming back. Would’ve took more videos but we ate the food too fast.
We ordered oxtails and jerk chicken with cabbage, Mac & cheese and rice &peas! I would give them 10 stars if possible. The people were super friendly and the food was amazingly good! The amount of food was really good and plentiful. They let us try the curry chicken and that will be my next meal there!
I was looking forward to trying the food here after seeing great reviews on tik tok. However, my experience was quite unpleasant. The customer service was absolutely horrible. We walked up to the food truck and were ignored for almost 3 mins after the employee saw us, which was extremely rude. The food was absolutely disgusting. The oxtails were fatty and lacked flavor. The rice and peas tasted so bad. The Mac n cheese was an absolute disaster as well. If you’re looking for authentic Jamaican food this is NOT the location to go to. 0/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!
I visited here several times over the past two years and Chef D has yet to disappoint! The meat was super tender falling apart with amazing flavor. My toddler is typically a picky eater that refuses most meat but here she ate everything on the plate.
