Greated at the door with a sweet treat as a welcome in, This place is a jewel !!! Especially on a 🌧 rainy day with kids! Staff was friendly throughout! We ate lunch 😋 delicious and plenty of portions! 7 people shared 2 brownie Sundays! .... then there's chocolate 🍫 made on site!!!! Go look from 2nd floor! Samples on 1st! 2nd floor, games, Dummies and watch them create the candy!! It's beautifully decorated like being in willy Wonka movie! Plus the porch is full of games for the kids! We stayed from 12 non till 7 pm! Literally best rainy day play date! Plus adult drinks 🍸 if you want!
Food was amazing. Got a chicken sandwich and a Caesar salad. I just wish their ordering system was a bit better. The service was good at the start but later became a bit hostile. The man at the counter accused my friends and I of stealing from his tip jar. He also accused us of coming in the day before and being rude and obnoxious towards him even though we had not because they had closed before we could make it. We told him that we had not come in but he insisted that we did. While trying to order ice cream he upcharged me by two dollars. It also took him a while to get it because he kept staring at the tip jar that he was sure we took from. What I bought was $6. My friend before me had bought something that was $8. When I told him that the payment wasn't registering because it was still the order from before, he insisted that I was tapping the card wrong. He then put in the same order my friend had made ($8 instead of $6) and in order to not make this guy any more pissed off I just paid that amount. Really wasn't wanting to spend $25 dollars tonight but I did anyways because he overcharged. Atmosphere was nice. I loved the decorations in the dining room and entrance. Overall not that great of an experience. If you want people to be happy with their experience you do not treat them like that. I will not be returning. In the future, do better.
This is a chill place to eat. Such a surprise. I'm used to average food jointly connected to the start business. I thought Sweet Pete's was the main attraction and like other places, they just stick a drag by night "also" business to make more money. MY BAD. I wasn't expecting such great tasting food. I am a burger person. I ordered a burger and twisted an egg on the burger. THEY DID IT - NO HASSLES. Like wow. 85%+ place don't do this. Then the burger came out. It look at me. I heard the burger say in its best Kevin Hart impersonation "You ain't ready!". I wasn't. This mama-jamma here made my whole day. The French fries were great as well. After the first 2 bites, I place 5 fries in my burger and just went to town. Others ordered desserts. These things are so big and tempting. Don't let your fitness trainer catch you here with one. You'll be fired. Fizzies is a great place to grab a delicious meal. You'll be very well pleased. I promise you. They have an actual Willy Wonka Golden Ticket here!
"What a fantastic find! We visited as a group of five and every single one of us loved our meals. The food was incredibly tasty, but the absolute standout was the fried pickles—easily the best we’ve ever had! The atmosphere is so fun and whimsical, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy good company. The best part? There’s a sweet shop connected right to the restaurant! We definitely loaded up on treats before heading out. If you’re looking for great food and a magical vibe, this is the place to be. We’ll definitely be back!"
Toady we have a fantastic few hours at Sweet Pete’s! Located in a historical Seminole club building Sweet Pete’s offers a variety of delicious confections, classes, and fun within their beautifully decorated doors. We were lucky enough to walk in and join their make your own chocolate bar tour. This tour started off with us choosing our chocolate bar toppings and base chocolate. They had an abundance of toppings to choose from including nuts, cookies, sprinkles, even candy coated sunflower seeds. You also chose your base chocolate, dark or milk. We arrived about 40 ish minutes early and were able to enjoy a lively sip at Fizzies & Fare. This is their restaurant on their first floor. The bar-istas (lol) helped me choose something age appropriate for my toddler and a nice adult beverage for myself. She listed to exactly what I did or didn’t want and whipped up something delicious. I had a blood orange margarita, and Andy had a lively Shirley temple. As we waited for our tour time, we saw the delicious food being delivered and wished we had time to sit down for a meal. Their menu is a beast and everything looked delicious from a salad, confetti pancakes, a BLT, it all looked scrumptious coming out. This is something we will absolutely do next time and ensure we have enough time to enjoy the meal. The informative history driven first section of the tour introduced the building, the business, and of course Pete. It was a perfect way to introduce newbies to what has become a Jacksonville staple. Aubrey loved this historical background and the full tour of the confectionary kitchen and packaging rooms that came next. We were able to see into the kitchen as our chosen bars were made by a confectioner. Jeff, our tour guide, answered every question I peppered at him and even ones I didn’t ask. He was super knowledgeable about how the candy was made, what it took to get them to the packaging room, and how important their clientele is to them. He was great with the children in our group, including our very tantrum riddled, low attention span, two year old. After the tour, we were able to roam around the second floor candy shop and mix and match our loot. I personally ended up with three boxes of assorted candy 🫣. To say they are staked with all kinds of delicious candy is an understatement. Imagine and entire BALLROOM filled with gummies, chocolate, caramels, hard candy, etc. There was something for everyone! We finished up our time by picking up our special made chocolate bars and we’re back out into the Florida heat. Every single person we interacted with today was “sweet”. More than they they were kind, knowledgeable, willing to help. They made the experience amazing. I’m so glad we were able to fit this in today, and will definitely be back to make some decadent goodies at another class very soon.
