I have been very displeased with my experience at First Coast Mental Health. There are several areas where this practice needs significant improvement. First, their communication is extremely lacking. They rarely answer the phone, forcing you to leave voicemails, which is frustrating when you need timely assistance. Perhaps they could implement AI technology to help manage phone calls and messages more efficiently. Second, the office is closed every Friday, giving them a three-day weekend. As someone who works Monday through Friday, this limited availability is very inconvenient. It gives the impression that they are not fully committed to their patients and are not working as hard as they could be. Third, the prescription process has been a nightmare. My pharmacy constantly sends notices to the provider about prescriptions that cannot be processed, yet the provider rarely, if ever, responds. This forces me to call and leave a message, then wait another day or more just to get my medication sorted out. Lastly, my experience with Dr. Amy Charles has been very frustrating. When I discussed past experiences and side effects with medications, she seemed to downplay my concerns and act like she knew better, which I did not appreciate. I felt dismissed and unheard, which is the last thing you want from a mental health professional. Overall, I am highly dissatisfied with this practice and will most likely be seeking care elsewhere. I hope they take this feedback seriously and make the necessary changes to improve their service.
