Family Kia of St. Augustine - Service Center

Called and inquired about a lifetime warranty on my Soul, from the lawsuit against KIA with the engines catching fire. I was ensured by Casey and another service advisor, my vehicle was covered by a lifetime warranty. I had my phone on speaker and had my son(it’s his daily vehicle jsut in my name) and my fiancé on the call with me, that he assured it was covered by a lifetime warranty. He never asked me for my mileage, and told me to have my vehicle towed to them and then KIA will reimburse for the tow since it’s covered under warranty. Even when I was face to face with Casey, he never asked me the mileage. Several hours later he called and said it’s not covered by a lifetime warranty but it’s just an extended warranty until 150,000 for the Souls but a lifetime warranty on the Cadenzes and Sorentos. So my vehicle was in my possession that morning and because of Casey’s promises and assurance my car was under warranty, I no longer had possession of my vehicle. It’s illegal for businesses to do that, and not sure how they continue to do this to customers, and act like it’s my fault. I just called and inquired about the lifetime warranty and was assured it was covered, or else my car would of never ever been towed to KIA. I have found at least 3 other people they have done this to, and have their statements as well. This is negligent misrepresentation and can not keep doing this to customers. I have sent emails, called to speak to Scott, and he’s always not available when I call. Have not received any communication whatsoever from Family Kia of Saint Augustine. No attempts to apologize for their mistake and no attempt to get my vehicle back to me. You can’t just go around telling people theirs cars are under warranty and that person rely on your employees promises, to be later told, “oh well” with no fixing their mistakes.

I usually receive great service from this dealer. However, lasts I was there, I left disappointed. I had to wait 2 hours for them to finish my car even though I had an appointment. It was a routine oil change. I heard a technician asking another customer if he wanted his car washed. I was not asked and I was in my way out, so I didn't asked for it. I just wanted to go home at this point. Make sure you ask for a wash if you need it.
