I took my my Goldendoodle Ruby for her vaccinations at Every Pet today. She loves it here, very clean, everyone is so friendly and kind. Today Hannah took care of Ruby and she was happy tail wagging even after shots. Ruby took happy photo kisses with Hannah. Thank you for your kindness and excellent care with my Ruby. 🤩😍❤️⭐️
4 stars for huge improvements in the intake and pick up of TNR community cats which is my experience since 2017. Separation from reg vet appts was and is so much better. The QR log in is great. Wait times are greatly reduced and the staff are way more efficient and trained. I appreciate the improvements! Two complaints- 1 minor. The smell in the lobby is overpowering so I’ve elected to wait in my car as is allowed but I don’t think they will notify you when to come in,? 2nd complaint that is more concerning is that- over the last year management decided not to release vet notes at pick up of community cats and no requesting or emailing questions will be answered. No longer can I see what was done for wound care, whether a cat was pregnant or its age or its weight. I picked up an adult tricolor fetal cat a couple weeks ago with an injured tail I noted on the intake form to have treated. I intended to bring her into care at my home for a period of time to relocate her since No one was feeding her at the location I trapped her. . When I went to put her into the cage at my house, I saw that her tail had been amputated. No information of why this was done or information on aftercare Or even knowing it was done until I brought her home. This policy does not serve the feral cats or people trapping and caring for them. Those of us who have taken on the responsibility of trapping, feeding and caring for feral cats deserve to know what was discovered as we continue to provide care for their well being. We want more information not less. I have feral cats. I have taken care of for many years, Miney just show up some heavy relocated to my property because I take care of them and I care about . I poured over those notes they were informative and I kept them. Sometimes when otherwise feral cat was friendly or young enough as a kitten, I’ve been able to get them into rescue and have the medical records to hand to the rescue. Now the procedure depends on busy front desk staff under time constraints to transcribe some brief information on the form that they release and it is inconsistent. they may or may not put the cats weight, estimated age, but they put nothing about condition of the cat, surgeries, wound care or medicine that was administered. Now a wall has been erected between the consumer caretaker of the cats and facility. I don’t consider restricted information and lesser informed caretakers a good policy. Thank you for all that you do for the community cats in Jacksonville and your efforts to continue to improve services. Some of the cats I’ve brought in and still care for.
Two yrs ago, I broke my foot. Then I got a wound on the other foot that won’t heal ( finally, last month found out I was a diabetic, that’s why it hasn’t healed) and some node person put out 7 teenage kitties w/ their moms, on my cul- de- sac. I called the city and begged for help only to be told they would call me back. After 2 weeks, I called back and was told they couldn’t help, they were full. Being crippled, there was nothing I could do but make sure they had food and water. Even though I couldn’t walk, I could still use the phone and ended up finding forever homes for so many kittens that I lost count. This year I’m in a little better shape and can finally bring them to NMHP, 2 at a time. I have been treated with the upmost respect and kindness! The understanding and care the staff upfront has treated me and my babies with is unmeasurable. I’m so relieved that I finally have someone to help me give these babies the life they deserve., free of more kittens and fighting for the males. Thank you so very much, for changing my life. This situation has worried me for so long. I can’t describe the relief and joy you’ve done for me and my babies!
I was initially nervous about bringing a stray mom cat here after reading some of the reviews, but I had a very positive experience. The staff was kind, helpful, and treated her well, and I’m extremely grateful they were able to spay her at no cost. I’ve seen complaints about cats being left messy in cages overnight, but realistically shelters and low-cost clinics often operate with limited staff and very high volumes. The cat I brought also had an accident in the carrier on the way home, and I simply cleaned her up once we got home. If possible, picking pets up the same day may help avoid that situation. Overall, I appreciate the work this clinic does for the community and for stray animals.
I took my older dog here for a spay and I had an awesome experience at this location. I had a lot of anxiety and worried a lot leading up to the procedure but when I got there I was greeted nicely and immediately it made me feel better. I had my dog on trazadone and gabapentine before bringing her and it still wasn’t enough, she was still a little anxious. They worked with me to sedate her and that helped a bunch. The tech and vet were both so kind I felt better leaving her here for her procedure. When we picked her up, she was so loopy and they let us go back to where they kept the animals to grab her ourselves instead of forcing her. She also received a several vaccines, e-collar, a free nail trim, and a heartworm test. All of this came out to $430. For reference, she’s 92 lbs. Some of her nails were cut a little too short and bled a little from what I could tell so maybe skip that if your dog has really dark nails like mine does, it’s really hard to see the quick. I will probably avoid asking for this in the future. Other than that, I’m immensely relieved everything went well with her procedure! Getting people on the phone was difficult but they called me back multiple times.
