Emerald Station

I live near this place so I pass by it all the time watching the progress of what was once a rundown artists studio of some sort to what their transforming it into. The old painted signage on the top of the south side of the building is still intact " Phoenix District Arts Building". I moved here from Phoenix 3 years ago and I lived right near the Phoenix Arts District there so I was hoping this project and the whole Springfield rejuvenation project would be as significant here in Jacksonville. The interior is beginning to look like a design center which is probably what it should be. now I ventured by there some weeks ago and there was entertainment outdoors on the south side. Some pretty hot music and it looked like folks were enjoying the venue. A tremendous amount of vehicles were parked along the streets as well as the lots. I hope they have great plans for this place and it encompasses a welcome for all in the neighborhood. Not all venues in this area are general inclusive. It's unfortunate but for a reason only they and God know. I'm originally from Boston MA where color didn't play much of a role. I was a bartender in a night club we all socialized in civilized manner. People are people. We all have so much to learn from each other. At the end of the day we all bleed the same color. Life is so fleeting why do some deprive themselves of freedom because division is so self-punishing. I didn't intend on this review to be a lesson in social division but I just let it roll and that's how I see it in my neighborhood. We all have to face the reality of it and address it otherwise the vibe is just stale.

Attended an event here. What a beautiful job of renovating an old warehouse and bringing it back to life with a new use. Very open space that could be used for any purpose. Also the murals on the building are stunning!

I hosted a cultural music event at this incredible space and it was amazing. It’s all beautifully renovated and has a variety of spaces for your event. Clay was so wonderful to work with, very responsive and invested in making the event a success. I highly recommend booking here!
