Had a breakfast burrito. It was tasty. I’d give it a 4 or 4 + flavor wise. That said, I am giving it 3 stars for the following reasons: (1). Service. The young girl who was the cashier was nice enough, but too shy to work in public. I spoke to her in Spanish (my first language), and she responded in English. I asked her if I should order with her. She said no. I needed to get the people in back. So, I went to the back and no one came out of the kitchen. I don’t recall now if I went back to her or just got the cook’s attention myself. I ordered a breakfast burrito…bacon, eggs, potato, cheese & cilantro (I asked for cilantro bc with no onions - they often come mixed). (2). Got the burrito. It barely had any cilantro (like I saw some, but couldn’t taste it) and it had onions (though also not too many…it wasn’t a problem). (3). Portion size - Flavor was pretty damn good, but it was tiny…and it was like $15!! I think the potatoes were frozen French fries. In California, I get a burrito easily twice that size (like the size of my forearm!), for the same price, with real potatoes - and everything is supposedly more expensive in California. (4). Presentation/cleanliness - Also, this place is not for the squeamish. It’s a store with food ordered at the butcher counter. What I could see of the kitchen didn’t look particularly clean either.

I went in there looking for produce and what little they had was wilted and no good. My son noticed the butcher putting up fried pork with the skin (chicharrón) and asked for 2 pieces. For for 2 pices of chicharrón, a small bottle of sprite and coke we were charged $27 dollars and some charge. The meat was $18.71 and the two drinks were almost $4 dollars each. The skin of poe pork was gummy not crunchy like its supposed to be. Total rip off. I will NEVER go there or recommend that business. I was already charged when I noticed the price.
Run dont walk to this place for some terrific mexican food. The california burrito and really the carne asada is on point. Well seasoned and crispy. Just a delight to eat. I would have loved it to be a little bigger than what it is but it is a legit california burrito in STA!! The queso birria tacos were good too. The consome and cheesiness were spot on. Could have been a touch saltier but pretty good. I also orded the el consteno (shrimp and steak) and the lengua (beef tongue) tacos. Both were good. I plan on trying everything on the menu eventually. Ifyou only could pick one menu item then I would suggest go for the california burrito. This isnt just a order to go restaurant (bummer that they dont have tables) they have a market including meats and vegetables plus all the latin treats, peppers, food products, and drinks. I would typically have to go up to Jax to get some of the latin treats for my cooking but now I found something five minutes away! They also make fresh tortillas that can be found in the cooler by the cash register. Yum!
Amazing authentic tacos! While this is not a traditional "restaurant", I have just eaten three of the best tacos of my life! So I am going to put this place ahead of many traditional taco restaurants on my "All Time Best" list! I got three different tacos and each was fresh, hot, and flavorful! And they were ready in about 8-10 minutes! So dang good! They have 2 tables and a counter, so maybe 10-12 people could eat here, which I did. I suspect most people get their food to go. I plan on coming back tomorrow evening and trying something else.
Ordered a fajita taco salad and literally got a shell full of meat and onions. Called to ask for a refund was offered a side of beans to fix the issue after I asked for a partial refund. $13.99 +tax for a literal bowl of meat. I will NEVER return I was better off going to taco.
