We stopped at Cross Creek BBQ and Steakhouse while traveling through Florida and had a really enjoyable meal. The portions were extremely generous, everything came out hot and fresh, and we got to try a great variety of the menu. We had the smoked turkey with cooked vegetables and a baked sweet potato, a New York strip steak with grilled shrimp, collard greens and steamed broccoli, and the all-you-can-eat smoked chicken with fried corn bites and mashed potatoes with gravy. The smoked turkey was tender and flavorful, and the New York strip was piled high with delicious sweet grilled onions that added a ton of flavor. The grilled shrimp were a great addition, and the sides were all hearty and satisfying. The all-you-can-eat smoked chicken was also a great value, especially with the generous portions, and the fried corn bites and mashed potatoes with gravy made it a really satisfying comfort-food plate. The service was excellent from start to finish. Everyone was extremely friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. We had driven straight through from Connecticut and ended up stopping in about an hour and a half before closing, and they still made us feel completely welcome and never rushed us at all. That kind of hospitality really stood out after such a long day of traveling. Overall, this was exactly the kind of relaxed, hearty BBQ and steakhouse meal we were hoping to find on our trip. We were visiting from out of state, but I would absolutely come back if I’m ever in the area again. Great food, generous portions, excellent service, and a very solid value.
My first time visiting this restaurant with my wife and her son, Alonso, though they've been here before we were married. We chose to sit on high chairs with tables in the bar area. Chris, our server was also the bartender and performed her roles very well. We started with fried mushrooms served with Greek sauce and ranch dressing. Alonso was somewhat disappointed that the mushrooms weren't more fried but they were tasty nonetheless. Alonso chose the all-you-can-eat chicken special with corn on the cob and baked potato. Apparently he loved it, because he asked for more dark meat. My wife and I split a 12-ounce ribeye steak and each chose a baked sweet potato. We're all drinking water. I'm happy that the water is filtered. Our steak was cooked to order, medium well, and very juicy. No complaints!
We were on the westside of Jacksonville for a wrestling show weekend recently. We ate at Cross Creek BBQ & Steakhouse which is located at 850 Lane Avenue South. The first thing that caught our eye was the 2-for-1 deal on Margaritas. 2 (pretty big) margaritas for $11.75?? Yes please. They had a lot of flavors to oick from and I went with coconut because I'd never had a coconut margarita before. It was great! Definitely coconut flavored but subtle enough to not be overpowering. I had the Prime Rib Special ($25 with 2 sides) for my entree. I picked Fried Corn on the Cob and Cole Slaw for my sides. The prime rib was so big and so good that I barely touched either side to be honest. Lauren had the Cross Creek Burger, which she liked overall. She asked for no pickles and they came on the burger but she just picked then off. It wasn't the greatest burger she ever had but solid for sure. She had Onion Rings for her side and liked those too. Our servers name was Jenn and she was pretty on top of things. The place is REALLY big and I'm pretty sure she was covering the entire big room we were seated in but she got everyone taken care of quickly. This was our first time at Cross Creek due to the fact that we're not out on the westside a ton. We'd go back when we're out that way though for sure. Horrible!!! The ribs was char burnt. (See pics) The pull pork so so dry i couldn't eat it. The green beans tasted like they took them straight from a can. Only thing good about this place was the waitress.
