I know a lot of the reviews are bad, and then some of the 5 stars feel disingenuous but this place deserves a chance! I think it’s worth trying even if it doesn’t become your new favorite ice cream spot. Brought my daughter here on Mother’s Day which I realize was a bold move considering they also just recently opened. The place was packed. There were well over 50 people just inside the place, and I know because I counted. The wait was long but not painful, I think so many of the bad reviews are people just not used to be inconvenienced. Like okay you waited a long time, get over yourself. Everyone behind the counter was hustling!! Like all hands on deck. They couldn’t keep the dough stocked so one guy was just rolling and rolling and rolling. I’m keeping it super real, the place was pretty wrecked. The floors have this super rough texture on them and all the food that falls to the ground gets plastered into the grooves. That’s probably the one thing I’d say they should relook at, those floors need to go! I like that you order at the kiosk, it makes things pretty straightforward. I ordered the Berry Cake and my daughter got a plain vanilla one with sprinkles. I agree that this is extremely decadent, and not something I’d get often but some of the flavors featured on their Instagram seem delicious. We were there around 7:30-8pm and after getting our ice cream we walked outside and watched the sunset, so overall I’d say pretty nice evening.
Walked in after soccer practice for a treat. You must order at the Kiosk and they will call your name once ready. The instructions for ordering is shown on the menu. The shop is a custom soft serve in a specialty cone. The cone is a dough like, donut maybe cinnamon roll texture shaped into a cone. There are a few specialty options pre- customized like "The Blondie". You can also choose to specialize your order in a cup vs a cone. When ordering, be prepared, the cones can be shared. It is a big ice cream. A great location in Durbin and we will be back again when craving soft serve.
We got a “hot cone” (warm cone with fruit and whip) and a regular cone with ice cream and lots of mix-ins/toppings. Both were excellent. The flavor/texture/freshness of the cones were on point. Even though you order from a kiosk, the team member came out from the back right away to let us know to ask if we have any questions. He took great care in making our cones! Highly recommend, we’ll be back when in the area.
I recently visited Crispy Cones and had a bit of a mixed experience. The ice cream itself was delicious, and the cones were fresh, crispy, and really well made. The staff also stood out—they were friendly, welcoming, and made the visit enjoyable. That said, I was a little surprised with the portion size. My ice cream came in a small cup with very minimal toppings, which didn’t quite match my expectations. But it was still delicious nonetheless, blackberry and vanilla swirl with brownies and biscoff cookie. Overall, the quality of the ice cream, cones, and the great service definitely stood out.
The ice cream here is delicious and so creamy, but my absolute favorite part is checking out their weekly specials. They always feature such creative and amazing flavors. Pair that with a freshly grilled cone, and you have the perfect dessert. 10/10!
