We visited the Colonial Quarter in March 2026, while visiting the area. We bought our tickets at the visitor center the day before. So we were ready to go when we arrived the following morning, at opening. The prices when we visited were: Adults (16 & over ) $15.99, Seniors and Military $12.99, Children (5-15 ) $9.99, 4 & under FREE. Being the first guests of the day and with time before the first tour. I was able to walk around and take some photos before the other folks arrived. Yes I took more during the tour. Our tour was fairly large. Our guide went by the name of Cooper. It was no surprise that he then incorporated his name into the presentation. Cooper did a good job of making the experience fun and entertaining. It’s always nice when folks can have a good time while actually learning something. We did have to deal with another fairly large group of school kids on a field trip at the same time. Although they were on a separate tour and the effect was limited for us. It was good to see them take an interest in our past history. We again walked around and checked things out after our tour ended. I felt that the price was much better than most of the other attractions in the area. And they do offer a discount if you visit either or both of their. Two connected restaurants. Honestly, everything seemed to have coupons. It seemed more like you have to pay more if you don’t bring a coupon. All in all. We felt it was worth the time to visit the Colonial Quarter. Our actual visit to the Colonial Quarter didn’t take all that long. So don’t plan your whole day on it. But you can spend some time there if you want. We did look around for a bit. But still did other things that day as well.
Its takes you on a short guided tour, usually an hour apart. Just one guy doing tour, hes great and funny! It used to be set years ago with different individuals operating the replicated craft booths, not anymore. The blacksmith, armory booth, home from that period with clothing, furniture and utensils of that period, kitchen cooking area, beds an example of the period. It has an upstairs to the house but it's roped off. They perform the simulation of firing a cannon. It costs $12.99 for senior citizens that is with senior discount.
Hear me out, having been to quite an amount of museums all over the world, I can confess that Colonial Quarters surprised me. :) It's a MUST HAVE when you visit St.Augustine, specially if you have a group of 9-12 y.o. kids :))) I don't know if all your guides are the same at that place, but I HIGHLY recommend Ellie (Elly?). I hear she works mostly on Mondays (info of Jan.2026). She is amazing, trust me! Our kids adored her! She is an great story teller, extremely funny, and obviously enjoys what she does. Thank you Ellie! You brightened our day.
Saint Augustine is an amazing city and we enjoyed the architecture, the street entertainment, and the abundance of restaurants and shops. Everything is walkable, and we enjoyed the sunshine!
Nestled within the ancient cobblestone streets of America's oldest city lies a treasure I stumbled upon with my family last summer—the Colonial Quarter of St. Augustine. What a revelation it was! June 30th, 2023 marked our first visit, though certainly not our last. The Quarter doesn't merely display history; it breathes life into it. Blacksmiths hammer red-hot metal into submission while musket fire cracks through the air unexpectedly—startling my daughter into fits of delighted squeals! Time bends here. One moment you're wandering through a 16th-century Spanish garrison, the next you're examining British military tactics that once dominated these very grounds. We devoured authentic colonial-inspired cuisine that burst with flavors forgotten by modern palates. Heavenly! The maritime exhibits particularly captivated my husband, who lost himself for nearly an hour examining shipbuilding techniques. St. Augustine has captured my heart so completely that I dream of making it my forever home. The Colonial Quarter stands as testament to why—it's where education becomes adventure, where history isn't just remembered but experienced viscerally through all five senses. You'll leave changed, carrying pieces of centuries past within you, already planning your return before you've even departed. Trust me, this living museum deserves every accolade it receives—and then some!
