This is a beautiful setting for an inland hotel restaurant. The seating is open and bright, overlooking the pool or the lake fountain. The outdoor seating is extensive as well. The furniture is comfy and well suited for parties of any size. Service is attentive and the breakfast food is very fresh.
This restaurant is located in the lobby of the new Hilton hotel located on Mayo’s property. It’s not bad. They are missing finishing touches really, such as bringing jam and butter alongside the toast my wife ordered for breakfast (or else it’s just dry toast!). Another example is my oatmeal needed a sweetener of some kind to brighten it up. Brown sugar or honey would have been great! Then I ordered a blueberry muffin as a side with my oatmeal. The food runner brought our breakfast out and said I’m looking for a blueberry muffin and walked off. One was never brought to me oddly. And even odder is the fact they have blueberry muffins right there at the buffet they’re offering so she could have just grabbed one from there. Strange, otherwise, the bacon was a bit overdone, but the meal was good enough that I’d go back in the future if I’m staying at the hotel.
My first time eating here at Coastal Kitchen was on Mother's day! It was such a pleasant experience! For $55 they had a Prime Rib carving station( the Au Jus and horse radish cream were best to top it off) mash potatoes, and string beans. This was on top of the regular budget they serve on the weekend. Also the bottomless mimosas were apart of the special that day. They also had a flower bouquet station for the moms to pick from. I brought my dad here today for Father's day because of my personal experience on Mother's day. We were disappointed to say the least. I noticed that the experience was not as pleasant. Food was cold that should have been warm to hot. They offered beer mimosas as if men don't drink mimosas. They had a seperate à la cart menu but that was steak and eggs as an option for an additional $35 on top of the buffet which was $42 pp. All I can say is they should have put more effort in for the fathers like they did the mothers!!!
We have been watching the new Hilton being built for awhile and were happy to see a new restaurant open. The hotel and restaurant are modern, clean and beautiful. We ordered the quesadilla and the BLTA sandwich, both were very good! The service was excellent. Great spot to grab a cocktail and light appetizers too. They have outside dining we will check out another night when it isn't so cold. Great spot we will be back.
The food was absolutely amazing! We had the Coastal Burger with fries and the Chicken BLAT with a Caesar salad, and everything was delicious. The wait staff was also fantastic. Unfortunately, this was truly a tale of two hostesses. Chris was amazing—kind, engaging, and welcoming. Katherine, however, was extremely rude, abrasive, and dismissive. For an establishment located at Mayo Clinic, where people are often facing serious medical situations and receiving critical treatment, I was especially disappointed by the way I was spoken to. Compassion and kindness should be at the forefront of the guest experience. If you can get past the interaction with Katherine, the food and wait staff make this a great dining experience. Hopefully, management will address the issue because the restaurant has a lot going for it.
