This place is really good. I ended up going in earlier than they open, and they still got my order ready in minutes. Really humble staff and really good experience.
Was really craving some gumbo so got the bowl, but for 7.99 this was the size. Didn’t even fill a bowl. I know inflation is a problem nowadays but because of this I kind of don’t want to come back just seems like a lot of money for nothing. Chicken salad was good.
I visited for the first time today and I was so impressed! The gumbo was fantastic, the staff were so friendly, the place is clean, and I love that they have good music at a comfortable volume. This place is delicious and extremely cozy. Will come again soon!
The young lady that runs this place, Clara, she's such a wonderful hostess and really has made a great place to have a great meal. The food is great quality and the seating is plentiful. They even have an outdoor seating section to enjoy the breeze and have lunch with your pets. Very friendly, highly recommend. Been serving Jacksonville since the 1980's and has never let me down.
Love them having another location. I did my go-to turkey avocado pita with no sprouts, the world famous potato salad, Claire's chicken soup and three not two not one slices of their delicious lemon pound cake. Of course had to have their fresh brood sweet tea! Every chance I get, I go to Clara's
