Don’t judge a book by its cover. Outside, this restaurant does not have a lot of curb appeal, but step inside and things are very very different. I was impressed. Carlos as our server and not only did he have us laughing, he also steered us through the menu options. But if you've read my reviews before, you wanna hear about the food: Drinks - I don't drink, but my wife did the two drinks for $11.99 and loved it. Salsa - thin, with a kick, but really tasty. Chips - fresh, not sure if homemade, but fresh, Tijuana Taco - so so good, my FAVORITE Fish Tavos - another solid choice, this one was Mahi. Shrimp Taco - my wife likes her shrimp over cooked, so I don't try them, but they looked good Guacamole - this was controversial at our table. I thought the fresh guacamole was fantastic, while my wife thought $10 for a bowl was extremely high. Around the corner from the new Asian Market that opened up. Really worth the drive. I saw they have $1.99 Tacos on Tuesdays, so that is securely worth a try.
We come here often with the family and for adult dates, it’s always a great experience. The food, drinks, and staff are consistently good, and the service has never disappointed. They offer a military discount, which is appreciated and the drink specials are solid. A picture of margarita is $18.99! It’s also a great spot to watch the Jags game. Definitely a reliable go-to for good food and a laid-back vibe.
Good food! Service is fast and friendly. Good specials. Place is local so I really appreciate it. Oh yeah, and their margaritas are on point! 👌 We had the soup and the birria tacos. Delicious.
If you want truly authentic Mexican food, you gotta come here! I grew up just 100 miles north of Tijuana, Mexico. Jacksonville has been a disappointment time and time again with the “it’s covered in cheese sauce, so it must be Mexican food” flair. I stumbled back into Cinco de Mayo for an early dinner and was created warmly by the new owner Denny, I ordered the Carnitas plate and it was prepared to perfection with the perfect balance of crispy edges around a soft and juicy bite. Paired with beans and rice that are as authentic as as it gets. Then came desert. Can I just say that I have not been blessed with Tres leches cake like this since I was a kid! The cake was not sugary sweet and smoothered with some fake interpretation of the classic dessert. It was presented with the tight amount of real whipped cream on a plate with the sweet milk pooling at the sides. Lightly sprinkled with cinnamon and topped with a cherry. Y’all gotta check this place out!
Our family had a great experience visiting this restaurant for the first time. The food was good and it was very family friendly but all the adults in the building w/o kids seem to be enjoying themselves. They have 2 for 1 margaritas and nice “Jags Game” specials. The food was good, the drinks were strong and the service was great. We will be back!
