Malachi & Destiny were super kind & did a fantastic job. Charley has a nice layout & the pullets we picked up at Charleys are all very healthy. We will definitely visit Charleys again when we need some more hens. Thank you all for everything & good luck in the future.
I ordered eight point-of-lay hens from Charley's Chicks and picked them up on June 13th. After traveling an hour and a half to collect them, we received our hens. It was a busy and somewhat chaotic pickup day, but everything seemed fine. When I arrived home, I tagged each hen and noticed that one of my Rhode Island Reds was noticeably smaller and lighter than the others. During the following week, she never seemed to fully integrate with the flock. She would not roost with the others, preferred sleeping in a nest box, and I had to shoo her out each morning. I assumed she simply needed more time to adjust. On the morning of June 21st, I noticed her sitting away from the rest of the flock. When I picked her up, her beak was partially open and her eyes were half closed. I offered her water and separated her from the flock, but before I could get her settled, she passed away. I emailed Charley's Chicks to let them know what had happened. I was not looking for compensation and understand their policy regarding poultry sales. However, I would have appreciated an acknowledgment or response to my email. I have included photos showing the size difference between this hen and the others when I first brought them home. UPDATE: After posting this review, the owner contacted me personally and apologized for the loss of the hen. He also offered a refund, which I greatly appreciated. During our conversation, I sent a screenshot of the email I had originally sent, and they were eventually able to locate it in their spam folder. It appears the lack of response was due to a communication issue rather than being intentionally ignored. I felt it was important to update my review to reflect this. While losing the pullet was disappointing, I appreciate the owner's willingness to reach out, apologize, and make things right. The remaining hens are doing well, and I thank them for their customer service.
Absolutely love Charley’s chicks! We went as first time customers and chickens owners. They were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They have a great selection and they will advise which chickens are best for you especially if you have kids. Definitely will be getting all my chickens with them. Thank you guys again!
Charley's Chicks continues to be awesome! I first met Charley and his chicks shortly after he started and have finally been in a position again to bring some of his ladies to my new homestead 🥰. I got six RTL hens and they've settled right in. I got a pullet egg the first day! They are all healthy and happy. I'm using CC's pullet crumble feed too. Thanks CC!
Charleys Chicks are the best. This was my 2nd purchase and amazing customer service. The chickens are so so healthy and strong. The temperament introducing to my flock was seamless. I won't go anywhere else and I drive over hour to get there
