Champion’s Mexican Sports Bar

Pretty dang good. Absolutely perfect seasoned chicken and steak. Salty, spicy, delicious. So much flavor. Chips could use a little more salt but the salsa was great with a pretty good kick. I wish the Chili Rellenos coating was crunchier. The fried breading was soft. I think it was intentional but I prefer a bit more mouth feel. The amount of cheese was spot on. Wasn’t overwhelming but accented the dish. The sauce was complex. Tomato, spice, maybe cinnamon? It was gentle yet flavorful. Very good. Rice and beans were average. Lots of TVs for sports. Patio was nicely laid out. Looking forward to a return dining experience. Great stuff! 2nd visit just as phenomenal. Best Mexican restaurant in Jax. Gervin was very attentive.

We stopped by this place on a Sunday afternoon and we were all so impressed at the freshness and tastiness of the food, the ambience, and the customer service. All top notch!! we all kept talking about how good it was as we were eating. Very fresh generous portions worth every dime. We ordered the California burrito, the street tacos, a steak taco salad, and a shrimp and steak quesadilla. All outstanding. Everyone raved about their dish. I also ordered a dragon fruit margarita, which was fantastic. Also, the salsa that came with the chips at the table was also delicious!! we will most definitely be back very soon! UPDATE: have been back several times since original review and I leave completely satisfied every single time. They have some very affordable options (the nachos pictured were $13!) that will still leave you completely stuffed. 10 out of 10 recommend 😋

I wanted something fresh and delicious. Champion's 🏆 Aim to please. Food was delicious. Restaurant was clean, bright, and vibrant. Thank you to the chef and our waitress Nancy. We order the Gorditas. We had to wait a little bit for an appetizer but trust me it was well worth the wait. Fresh and hot and taste like it was homemade from momma kitchen. My first time at Champion's and we will be back. We found out they do have specials every night as well.

Stopped by on a Monday afternoon to check out their happy hour. I’m sure glad I did! Very generous happy hour with $5 large beers, sangria, margaritas and food options. We ordered the queso and flautas (one chicken and two carnitas). Everything was delicious! What stole the show was the service. Jeanette couldn’t have been better! She went the extra mile to ensure we had a pleasant experience and was so sweet to my younger child. The gentleman working with her (unfortunately I didn’t get his name) was equally as pleasant. You could tell they both enjoyed what they did and represented the restaurant very well. It’s refreshing to see people enjoy and believe in the product they are selling. A fantastic experience all the way around. We will be back. Gracias!
