Joining this family karate and kickboxing gym has been even more beneficial for our family than I imagined. Coach Derek and Coach Theresa are patient, encouraging, and truly care about every student. My kids have built confidence, self-discipline, and focus while having a blast. The sweet family who runs this dojo pours into our kids and takes every opportunity to instill important values during class like respect, perseverance, and hard work. Coach Theresa also recently prepared invoices for us to submit for our child on the SUFS scholarship, she did it in a timely fashion and was so sweet to check in to see if they were approved. It genuinely feels like a second family here, both on and off the mat! Thank you so much for being important role models in our children’s lives and for pushing us all to grow!
Champion Kenpo is a wonderful family owned dojo. Our son attends the Little Dragons class and our daughter is very excited to become of age to join also. Theresa and Derek are patient with the kids, yet set clear expectations and encourage them to do their best. We will definitely have our children enrolled here for a long time. We highly recommend this dojo.
Coach Derek is nothing shy of stupendous! This dojo feels like home, and it feels like we are working with family. They offer a large variety of classes, from Little Dragons, weapons work, kickboxing, yoga, advanced Kenpo, and more. When he works with the children (and adults), he balances discipline, lessons, knowledge, and fun to drive points home and create a solid understanding of the principle and technique. He is always willing to listen and demonstrate to help you succeed to the best of your abilities. With over 20 years of teaching under his black belt, and knowledge passed down from great teachers like Bill Wallace and Ed Parker, you will not regret giving this place a shot. I absolutely love Champion Kenpo Karate Kickboxing, LLC! My son is 5 and had been a white belt since the beginning of June, working super hard, learning to focus and be respectful! Today he earned his Yellow Stripe belt. The instructors are like family! They are so nice and at the same time keep a group of 5-7 year olds in line, respectful and engaged! When I was a kid I did Karate in CT and I absolutely loved me instructor, he connected on a different level with the kids and families, I am so glad I found a place and instructor like that here in FL for my son!
Great kickboxing class! The coaches are knowledgeable, patient, and encouraging. The workouts are challenging but rewarding- helped improve my strength, endurance, and coordination. I love that it’s not just a physical workout- it’s also a mental challenge because you have to learn and remember combinations and steps- helped me develop greater focus and concentration. Excellent way to relieve stress, build confidence, and feel accomplished after every class. Highly recommended!
