This place was amazing. You have to schedule a tour in advance, you can't just show up. They have a website and they are great at communication and getting back to you. Its a really cool place and you get a thorough tour and find out the history and meaning of everything there. Definitely recommend checking this out.
This was my first time visiting Castle Otttis, and it was pretty unique experience — it felt like I traveled back in time. The Irish-inspired medieval castle is unique, especially with its handcrafted stone details and peaceful atmosphere. I visited for a wedding, and it couldn’t have been a more magical setting. If you love unique St. Augustine landmarks, this hidden gem is a must-see, appointment required.
So I'm going to give this one star as a place of where you would visit. There are no parking signs up and down both sides of the street like 20 of them. There is no trespassing signs Do not touch the gate signs Do not look at our home signs. But it is overgrown and you can only see the top of the castle from the road so you really can't see anything. It's a shame.
I've wanted to see this for a long time, but it's a shame there's no access to it, everything was closed (even though it was Saturday, during the day) and the only thing we saw were the trees in the photo... there are no schedules or any information about when they're open
This place is GORGEOUS! I'm sharing my experience as a Florida elopement photographer that had the joy of capturing a couple's intimate wedding here at the property. We had tons of privacy and flexibility to enjoy the property for their elopement. Before their ceremony, the owner showed us around and told us about the location and it's history. There's tons of amazing spots within the building for photography. I would highly recommend this location if you're looking for something totally unique and different for a Florida elopement or intimate wedding.
