Money well spent for us two. We were in awe when we went inside - we’re both semi-history nerds. Was great to see the architecture and carvings. The view and the weather was great that day. We were expecting some rain but it made it a bit overcast and breezy which felt amazing sitting at the top on one of the many benches they had. It was a nice location where we learned a bit of history and were able to just vibe enjoying the view of the water and the weather. We wanted to stay all day.

Visiting the Castillo de San Marcos was one of the highlights of my trip to St. Augustine. The fort is incredibly well-preserved, and walking through its historic walls feels like stepping back in time. The views of the water are beautiful, and there are plenty of opportunities to learn about the history of the area. I especially enjoyed exploring the different levels of the fort and watching the historical demonstrations. The grounds are clean, the staff is knowledgeable, and the experience is both educational and enjoyable for visitors of all ages. If you're visiting St. Augustine, this is a place you shouldn't miss. It's a fascinating piece of history with amazing views and a unique atmosphere. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
A great piece of history to see in the heart of downtown St. Augustine. The cost is $15 for anyone over the age of 15 (doesn’t include parking) and it will take you a little over an hour to see it all. They have a nice gift shop to buy a souvenir and friendly staff. A lot of great things to see inside the fort and a must-see when visiting St. Augustine. The only challenge can be parking but I was able to find one eventually near the entrance (and then you just pay at the machine).
If you are in the are I highly recommend making time to visit this amazing historical site. Oldest fort in the continental United States which predates established USA. It is much more impressive inside than you can even imagine. Elaborately built for its day, my kids learned so much in our tour and the rangers told us many amazing facts. Just a heads up it is very difficult to get parking, we circled for a long time before being able to snag a spot. There is a nearby Public parking building across the street if you can’t manage to get a spot right out front, both are pay to park just FYI.
Fort Castillo de San Marcos is a lovely experience full of history. Although the fort is smaller than ones I've previously been to, the entire experience did not bore me at all. The architecture of the place is what surprised me most. Bits of seashells and stones make up the ENTIRE fort! It truly is amazing how well it's held up, even after restoration. The cannons and sentry posts are fun to explore, and all the tidbits of info you find in each rooms are super cool. I would definitely come here again for a more in-depth exploration of the place. 5 stars easily! Castillo de San Marcos is a great place to visit.
