We had just arrived in town on 5/16. The parking is limited but parked in another lot and walked over. Was it worth it? Yes it sure was. The employees were amazing right off. The salsa was so delicious and really fresh. I got tacos and my wife got chicken fajitas. Oh my, they were so good. If you are in town you have to stop her. And the prices were great as well.
Where do I start?? We walked into an open atmosphere and was immediately seated in a booth. Maddie (Madison) was our server. She was great! We ordered the Trifecta to start (guac, queso, street corn) and OMG!! Amazing... Maddie said it was happy hour on margaritas so, WHY NOT. They were delicious. I had the house, my wife, the Black Cherry. For food, I ordered the Fiesta Platter. It came with Carne Asada strips in Chimichurri sauce (another OMG) and Chicken breast, and a Relleno Pepper filled with ground beef. All of these were flavorful and nice portions. I forgot to mention it had a thick slice of flamed Mexican cheese, 'Cotija', plus we ordered a side of habanero salsa (Yum). We had a second margarita (happy hour) and our total was still under $80...! We recently moved here from Vegas, have been going to a place (Named after a type of Tequila) near the house on Intl Golf Parkway but decided to change it up... I must say that we probably will not be going anywhere else for a LONG TIME now. This place was Da'Bomb. Happy and full is how we left Cantina Louie. We will see you again, soon! :)
5 yrs I've been passing this place in multiple locations around Jax. I have been missing out! The food is a well rounded selection-except my favorite chilies rellanos. My fajitas style quesadilla was stuffed but more important, it was flavorful! A nice little salad and rice. Rice is usually a blah filler, but again, very flavorful. I've had rice a lot of Mexican places. This was really good and I wish I knew if they were doing something no one else is doing. We'll be back. Oh, this should have been higher up in my review but KUDOS to the prices you seem to have NOT jacked up like a lot of places around here.
Overall AMAZING place to go to. Izzi was our server and she was the best!! She let us know we came in time for happy hour so the drinks were half priced, and very delicious by the way. Service was amazing and super quick, as soon as we sat down chips and salsa were brought out, very delicious as well. Everything is fresh and tastes authentic. I got the pick 2, a steak burrito, and chicken tostada, both super duper amazing. Honestly loved this place!!!! We’re not locals in St. Augustine and are just visiting but we were driving down and passed the place and decided to stop by for some good eats and I am thoroughly impressed. 10/10 would recommend:) Thank you again Izzi!
We came back after having visited about 2 years ago and we were just as impressed this time as we were last time! We came on a Tuesday (by happenstance) and we were looking for tacos! The $2.99 tacos definitely were delicious. We mixed and matched some tacos. I got 2 Pineapple Al Pastor tacos and 1 Asada street taco. My wife got the blackened shrimp, Al pastor and the asada taco. We also got kid meals - a quesadilla (that has the traditional white mozzarella feel too it), 2 of the soft taco - beef. Everyone was happen with their meals. The salsa has a bit of a kick, which I very much appreciate. The restaurant was very clean and tables were cleaned promptly after people left. The restaurant tends to run at a louder decible but it adds to the overall atmosphere. Ariana was our waitress - Service was fantastic, helpful, friendly and prompt. Answered our questions and offered suggestions.
