The food was delicious, they had gluten free pancakes for my wife, and Emily was the best server I've had in a long time! I highly recommend this place for breakfast!
This was my first time eating at this diner, and unfortunately, I will not return. The place is clean, quaint, welcoming. The service was fine - I wasn’t greeted when I walked in or when I sat to look at a menu at the bar, but one of the young ladies noticed me looking around and offered to put in my to-go order. Ok, cool.. The food was simply terrible. I ordered the Santa Maria. $15 dish worth $5. The bun was soggy, avocado brown and mushy, and the eggs entirely too salty. The tomato slices were a sorry excuse and quite frankly, the whole dish looked like it was carelessly slapped together. I should have seen it as a red flag when my food was delivered to me approximately 3 minutes after I ordered… On the bright side, I was able to eat the fruit! Honest opinion - the place is overrated and can do a whole lot better. Do not recommend.
I have been eating at Canopy off Phillips for a long time now. I can honestly say that this food has over achieved everytime. I have not finish ordering everything off the menu as of yet. Getting close. So to say that you need to try a specific food would be mistreating you out of the food experience there. Go sit enjoy the food and the people. Small dining area but its worth the wait. They have 3 locations. But the phillips is top tier. The cooks AND SERVERS ARE GREAT.
The food was decent overall, but nothing particularly memorable. The presentation was appealing, and the portion size was reasonable for the price. Flavor-wise, some dishes were enjoyable, while others felt a bit under-seasoned and could have used more balance. The ingredients seemed fairly fresh, though not exceptional. Service was acceptable—staff were polite, but a bit slow during busy moments. The atmosphere was comfortable enough, though it didn’t stand out in any significant way. Overall, it’s an okay place to eat if you’re nearby, but not somewhere you’d go out of your way to visit.
My first time visiting here. I'm impressed that they have a really easy menu to read and choose for breakfast or lunch or something in between. I had the two-egg breakfast with grits and scrambled eggs. The server suggested the homemade biscuits and it was all good. I like that the condiment kiosk on the bar is abundantly filled with cream for coffee. I just wish they would swap out the ketchup containing high fructose corn syrup with a healthier option. God knows we need to keep our liver healthy. The corner location in the plaza offered a large number of parking spots. I also enjoyed the music playing hits from my younger days (70s & 80s). The restroom was decent but esthetically, it could use updating, especially with the handicapped rails being cleaned and polished; door handle repaired; face plate on light fixture. The base boards outside the restroom need attention also.
