I visited Café Karibo on Amelia Island with a close friend and ordered the Veggie Wrap, and wow …it exceeded every expectation. The combination of hummus, tomato pesto, roasted red peppers, seared tofu, carrots, onions, cucumbers, Baja black beans, baby greens, and feta in a spinach wrap was so balanced and fresh. It was incredible that I didn’t even need the dressing it came with. Everything was compact, flavorful, and not soggy at all , honestly one of the best veggie wraps I’ve had in a long time. I subbed the side it normally comes with, and while I do wish there wasn’t an upcharge (especially since many people, like me, can’t have potato salad due to dietary needs), the sweet potato fries were worth it. They came out crispy, delicious, and paired perfectly with the honey mustard. Overall, a beautiful meal with fresh ingredients and great execution. Just a small note on the side‑swap upcharge, but the food itself was fantastic. I’ll definitely be back.
A high-in-demand chef who lives and works in Fernandina Beach, Fl recommended this restaurant. He spoke in high regards of the quality of the food here. Wow. Was I ever wonderfully surprised. This palace of a Cafe is tucked in the bosom of the heart of Fernandina. The two hostesses out front were beautifully kind. I was seen too a seat right away. There is a warmth that grabs and holds you the entire time of your visit. There at my table we promptly mess "Jess", our waitress for the afternoon. There was a folksy jar of water, cold & ready to self-serve. The table we got was fit for two, or so we thought. The menu has so many great options. I finalize on heaven (A.K.A. - Greek Quesadilla). I was also afforded a couple slices of a custom black olive pizza with other toppings. NOW: This Greek Quesadilla was sent you this restaurant by God himself- I'm certain of it. Never in all my restaurant reviews have I enjoyed something so perfectly balanced of flavor, healthy, sweet, and fulfilling. I had to just look at this crafted creation. I absolutely flashed down Jess and inquire who in the back kitchen was responsible for this gloriousness on my plate. Jess told me he name is Dinora. I reached into my wallet and pulled out a $20 crisp new bill and kindly asked Jess to deliver this to her and let her know just how much i absolutely Love the meal she sculpted for me. I this Jess its the best meal I've enjoyed ever. I was stupified. It had a healthy amount of greens and the magic she put inside was powerful. It made my whole night. The pizza was smokey and flavorful. I have room for only 2 slices. Everything was on point. Silence the whole meal - chewing every bite with intention. While I was there, I was nearing the end of my meal, I figured "If this is their food, what's their desserts like"? Jess came back to visit us. I inquire about their desserts. Oh my, I wasnt ready. 3 layer this and 3 layer that. I told Jess to pick out what she knows of best. She took care of me. She chose the 3 layer chocolate ghnash cake. I was just over the fricken' moon. Jess was wrapping us up. She shared that the logo "Cafe Karibo" was filled with meaning. I hope I get this right. The 3 swirls are for the 3 sisters. The 4 dots are for each of the children. The acute accent over the "e" is the grandmother (whom the recipes came from). And the diamond over the "i" is for the husband. This is a wonderful family restaurant. You would place this Cafe in "Bucket list"!
Great food, lovely patio atmosphere, and Scott was our waiter—he was wonderful and made the whole experience even better. We got the turkey Cuban and Philly cheesesteak. Scott suggested the tomato soup to dip our sandwiches in. He was so right. The potato salad is what comes as your side and it was so delicious. Beautiful patio. Great shade. You can eat inside or outside. Little bar inside you can also sit at. People were wearing Sunday best to workout clothes. I felt fine in my lulu leggings, slides and tshirt. Solo bathroom with a sink.
Such a cute outdoor space and great menu with variety. Bring your vegan and meat lover friends, everyone will have incredible meals. The sandwich was huge I basically had enough fish for two sandwiches!
Cafe Karibo in Fernandina Beach was a great experience for our group of 10. The service was excellent from start to finish, and they were able to accommodate all of us without any issues. The food was delicious, the coffee was really good, and our waiter was attentive the whole time, always checking on us and making sure we had everything we needed. I also appreciated that some of my friends are vegan and they were able to find good options they were happy with. We sat inside, which had a nice atmosphere and good vibes, but the outdoor area also looked really quaint and inviting. Definitely a lovely spot to enjoy a meal with friends.
