The only reason I’m writing this today is primarily because of my experience. I had went to this location today march 2nd 2026 and I was there to get lunch and possibly eat on the way home, and after placing my order I found that I was waiting really long for my food, but as I was waiting I noticed a woman walk in with her full platter and places it on the counter, simply says “I can’t eat this, the food is old and cold” and just leaves. I should have thought about that because maybe5 min later I get my food and on the way home I go, I did do a quick glance of the food and it seemed fine but when I got home and opened the food the brisket was old looking and cold. It wasn’t tender but chewy which told me it wasn’t fresh, and as I ate the fries and sausage, I also realized that the food was cold. I spent $20 and gave a tip because personally I love bbq and I typically have a good experience with my food but not today. I was very disappointed, so much so I had to write a review. And I’m sorry if this hurts business but the should 100% be accountability for this. The guy who would cut the meat was chewing away , non stop eating as I waited 15-20 min for “fries”. You have to do better and today was a bad example of better. I’m not sure when I’ll be back to Bono’s but in the future if I do decide to, I hope I don’t experience what I experienced today.
BONOS BBQ Philips HWY-Jacksonville, FL Disappointing experience overall. I stood at the open takeout window and was completely ignored..maybe 3 minutes.. Disheartening to go to an establishment with a nice huge takeout window-with the window open to not be of service..but open-with employees just within arms reach and audible..i could understand clearly what they were saying-that is how close i was. "sure, ill bypass this "convenient" take out window that was speciatly made and labeled TAKE OUT ,that makes plenty of sense.." I go inside to get my pre-ordered food. I was prompted to tip, before even being served online—which makes you wonder, what exactly am I tipping for? **Mind you it was right at 1PM-After rush hour -no one waiting on take out..counter had a couple people and empty seating..** After being handed my order, I had to remind staff about my paid drink.. i know its difficult to review reciepts and orders.,. The drink was made poorly (messy, leaking lid, barely any ice) the lid was lopsided and i was told to address and correct it.. you cant even try? This is what you represent...? I Get back to work; my BBQ sandwich had barely any meat on it. The flavor was good—for the few bites I had—but the portion and service didn’t match the price. I’ve worked in hospitality for 20 years, and this level of service and attention to detail just isn’t acceptable. I believe some managing needs to be executed...maybe consider employee's that can't provide customer service-stay in the back of the house.. Bring someone with friendlier and cleaner quality to the front..
This was a really nice place the food was the loser here. I ordered a burger asked for it to be cooked medium. When it came out I was told by my server they are all cooked the same no way to cook it medium. I've never in my life heard this. Of course it was well down so for me over cooked and not good. A squirt of mustard, ketchup and thick slice of cheese not melted with fresh tomatoes was it. Nothing to write home about. The service was great.
Felicia was great! We really enjoyed our meals also. Everything was fresh and delicious
I ordered online a BBQ salad with turkey to go and took it back to work and this is what I got for $20 ( 12.99 + 3.00 service fee and tip $20 !) Not ordering again…very disappointing!
