Great place for families with children. It's connected to the local library. There is a nice trail to walk. You get to see wildlife in it's natural habitat. And there's also a playground and a place for story time
If you want to get away from your busy day. Stop by and relax at this little gem. You will see more turtles than birds and if you are patient you may even see a dragonfly land on a turtles nose. A a plus it is right next to the library work plenty of parking
We loved Bird Island Park. It has smooth paths to walk on and fun art to see. It was fun to see the birds and turtles enjoying the Rookery.
Beautiful little sanctuary with a great walk around the scenic lake, arboretum like atmosphere and plenty of wildlife including birds, turtles, rabbits and others.
Great day trip from Jax or St Augutine. Perfect size for groups of mixed ages and abilities. I'd expect to set aside an hour or two. The maze will green up soon, I hope! Probably worth waiting for. Love the birds anyway, but lives up to it's name. Sunscreen, parasols, and wide brim hats encouraged. It was free or so cheap that I paid. Most great for feet or wheels. But there is 1/2 a circle thats a dirt path. Please comment if you have a different opinion.
