If you’re anywhere near Big Daddy’s BBQ, stop what you’re doing and GO. This wasn’t just a meal, it was an experience. Shoutout to our Uber driver who told us about this spot. Every bite was incredible. The brisket was perfectly seasoned, tender, juicy, and packed with smoky flavor. The chicken was moist and flavorful, the ribs practically fell off the bone, and every side was just as memorable. The beans, potato salad, greens, buttered toast, cornbread, and the perfectly sweet lemonade all tasted homemade and prepared with love. And whatever you do… save room for dessert! The peach cobbler literally brought tears to our eyes because it tasted just like Grandma’s peach cobbler—warm, comforting, and made from the heart. It was the kind of dessert that brings back memories. Every dessert we tried was outstanding. What made the evening even more special was the hospitality. Our group was visiting from Houston, TX, and Colorado Springs, CO, and we arrived a little after 9:30 p.m. on a Saturday. Not once did we feel rushed or like we were inconveniencing anyone. Instead, the staff welcomed us as though we were the very first customers of the day. They treated us like family from the moment we walked through the door. We even had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Big Daddy himself. It’s easy to see why this place is so special. He has built an incredible team that clearly respects and admires him, and that culture of kindness and pride shines through in every interaction. Amazing food. Amazing people. Amazing atmosphere. We’ll absolutely be back, and we’ll be telling everyone we know about Big Daddy’s BBQ in Jacksonville, FL.
For starters, they were bringing the food out piece by pieces, person by person. The little waitress was very pleasant; atmosphere was ok but the food was very DISAPPOINTING, would I recommend highly unlikely. The pull pork fried shrimp and fried fish was the best thing that we got everything else was very deceitful.
My dad and I came by on our lunch and we both ordered the 10pc smoked wings he had fried okra and I had fries as my side. The server we had was really nice. I'm rating my experience a 3 because of how long we had to wait to order and the long wait when getting our check. I can tell the staff was short staffed as well as constant business. Now I can say I will come back to try them out again. I didn't make this to bash anyone but to give my honest opinion on my experience. But over the staff was nice and our food was fresh.
This was my second time going. There's a lengthy wait, but the service is excellent. The first time I ordered the two meat plate with brisket and ribs. They were both seasoned really well. I ordered potato salad and macaroni and cheese as the sides. The potato salad was great. I didn't really care for the macaroni and cheese. I went back again with my partner this time. He had the brisket dinner with macaroni and cheese and baked beans. He enjoyed them both. I had the oxtails with yellow rice, cabbage and collard greens. The oxtails were really thin. The cabbage had a good taste, but I didn't prefer the collard greens. The blue velvet cake was so moist and delicious.
The food was amazing the ribs were tender mac and cheese just right cabbage had a little spice too it.The best banana pudding I have every had from a restaurant and customer service was top tier.
