Nothing like a good smothered porkchops. Well, I found it at Annie Lee's Bakery & diner. Located on 48th & main next to winn Dixie its a must try. I loved the Ambiance with soft music 🎶 playing while I enjoy my delicious cuisine. 10/10 for sure... Tell them chef love ❤️ sent you
I was looking for a place for me and my brother near his home for Father's Day and I found a hidden gem. A soulfood restaurant with a nice clean dining room. When I walked in I was surprised to see a live band with a trumpet player. The music was so good. The food was amazing as well. I got porkchops, one fried , one smothered and greens and Mac n cheese. My bro got turkey wings dressing and cabbage. The food is good. But the best part is the dessert. This place is a diner and bakery. So you cannot leave without getting something sweet. I got banana pudding cup cakes. My brother got chocolate cake. The desserts are a 10/10. I will be back!!!!
From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is relaxing and smooth. There is r and b jazz hits playing in the background...but still with a conversation able to be held. Food hot and prepared to order. A vast array of soulful favorites...plus desserts that are appealing as well as delicious. Staff friendly accommodating and attentive. Place is packed and I see why. Hidden gem for me. Military discount honored on Thursdays Live band for holiday events 8 years in business dining side...10 years bakery side. Go early....place gets full quickly.
We hear about this place from a player in Bestbest. Said "the food was better than the "Soulfood Bistro", uhhhhmmmm hell naw! Service was good, atmosphere nice enjoyed the music, however not a library band as stated in the comments, there was no dessert counter, they had a rack with some strawberry cake, funfetti "b-day cake, 1 piece pound cake. I ordered ox tail, cabbage, yams. Hubby ordered turkey wing, greens, and lime beans. Ox tail was tender, flavor was all in gravy which tasted like packaged gravy4/10, turkey wing ....he didnt have much to say but not much was eaten, rice had zero flavor but was cooked well 3/10. Yams were super sweet 4/10, cabbage too salty 3/10, greens not a lot of flavor outside of vinegar 3/10, lime beans weren't too bad 4/10. Cornbread had good flavor but way over cooked, dry and you could tell with color on bottom. Now for dessert, Strawberry cake, nothing to write home about. Sponge was dry, frosty was okay, pretty smooth but neither had much strawberry flavor. We always gauge a restaurant with 1 question.....would you go back???? Nope, not based off rhe food when had.
Always amazing, but I love Sundays the most. The live music is unmatched. I always get the candied yams and mac and cheese as sides because they’re my favorite. The wings, catfish, shrimp and whiting are all amazing too. One of my favorite spots for sure!
