Angel Kids Pediatrics - Julington Creek

I had a very disappointing experience today. I arrived on time for my son's appointment, only to be told that the doctor was running 1.5 hours behind. What frustrated me the most was that no one called or texted me to let me know before I arrived. I had to get permission from my manager to leave work and bring my son to his appointment. When I found out I would have to wait another 1.5 hours, I explained that I couldn't just sit there for that long because I had taken time off from work. I asked the front desk for a simple note stating that the delay was on the office's side so I could provide it to my manager. They refused to give me one. Instead of taking responsibility, I was given excuses. To make matters worse, the office itself looked poorly maintained, with spider webs in several areas. It did not feel clean or professional. I understand that emergencies happen, but patients deserve communication and respect. A quick phone call could have saved me a wasted trip and time away from work. My time is valuable too, and unfortunately this experience was completely unacceptable. I will not be returning.

It took us a while to find the right fit for our family. Until you experience a sick child that is not getting better you don’t realize the value of a doctor who actually sees and hears you, one who is willing to dig deeper and take that extra step for your child. We couldn’t be happier with the service and provider in this office. Thank you Dr Valdez and the staff of this office. Could not recommend more!

Dr. Valdes is amazing! She truly takes her time talking with me and my children, always answering all of my questions and concerns with care and patience. The staff at Angel Kids is super friendly and polite—every visit is a positive experience. I'm so thankful my children have such a wonderful pediatrician!

As a business manager myself, I believe the receptionist may be negatively affecting both customer experience and the business. The front desk has been extremely rude, this is now the second time in a month with the same receptionist. Her tone of voice is very aggressive. Dr. Valdez is very good, she is always trying to help in any way possible, but I do not want to experience that kind of treatment again. I would choose a different practice solely because of the unpleasant interaction at reception. Additionally, customer service over the phone is the only way to communicate with the practice, and although they are very kind, it seems they do not communicate effectively with the receptionist at the clinic. On two separate occasions, I was told over the phone that everything was clear with my insurance, only to arrive and wait 45 minutes or more. The first time, after the long wait, I was informed that my appointment had been canceled. The second time, Dr. Valdez herself heard the receptionist’s aggressive tone and came to apologize and contact management so that we could be seen. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this practice.
