1928 Cuban Bistro - Riverside

Love it here! The food is so good and the staff is so nice! Cant recommend it enough ☕️

I ordered the palomilla steak and eggs. I order the same thing at every location, and this is by far the best one and I am a very picky eater. It was delicious. The price for what you get is unbeatable. $14.95 for a steak, eggs and small salad. Real good food, not frozen corporate slop lol. (I live on the corporate food slop side of town 😭) Even my cappuccino was delicious. This is seriously one of the few places in Jax that has REAL coffee, and not some watered down oversweetened corporate version. It is perfect, and I don’t use that word lightly. Perfect. Now getting to the location is tricky if you’re not walking or parking for 15 min. There is parking nearby with a short walk near the FIS building/riverwalk entrance and you can avoid the garage. Still worth the visit.

I’m totally flabbergasted and disgusted! DO NOT EAT here! I ordered on Uber eats and went to pick up my order and gave my name and the young man at the register said that my order wasn’t ready yet then proceeded to make other orders and spoke Spanish amongst other employees in a predominantly English speaking community. The young lass that he spoke to had poor body language and looked unclean and disgruntled with dandruff sitting on the back of her head. She proceeded to follow the young man Spanish given instructions and grabbed a cup, put a safety sleeve around it then put her bare fingers (4) inside the mouth of the cup and proceeded to pour liquid contents inside. I said “excuse me ma’am is that mine?” She then looked at me, rolled her eyes with disgust and said no! Then the young man working the counter comes over and attempts to hand me the same cup that her filthy fingers were in and my sandwich that I ordered and I refused it and asked several times to speak to the manager, whom did not speak English. My experience was totally disheartening, distasteful and the care of my food was unsanitary and unsatisfactory and I will be posting my experience on all of my social media handles. People accept anything these days, an apology wasn’t sufficient enough and I’m not one of those people. I’m big on energy, they refused to allow someone else to remake my order stating they were busy and that the lass that violated my food was capable of remaking my order. Null and void. If you like fingers in your cup and poor customer service then this is the place for you! I’m headed to Tuptim Thai restaurant which is on the same road and they have excellent service and authentic food! 1928 will never get my money ever again neither the money from my neighbors, friends, family, ministry or followers. Disgusting!
