Question 1

How much is a coffee in St. Augustine?

Accepted Answer

In 2026, a drip coffee at an independent cafe runs about 3 to 4 dollars, a latte 5 to 6.50, and a large specialty cold drink 6.50 to 8. Alternative milk adds about a dollar. Chains are similar or slightly higher for specialty drinks. Breakfast sandwiches and pastries run 4 to 11, so a coffee and a bite is usually 10 to 16 per person.

Question 2

Which coffee shops in St. Augustine are good for working remotely?

Accepted Answer

Look for cafes with table seating, outlets and hours past mid-afternoon, which is more common on the US 1 corridor, Anastasia Island and in the north county than in the tightest downtown spots. Many downtown cafes are packed with visitors by 9 a.m. in season. Our listings note Wi-Fi and seating when the cafe reports it, and calling ahead takes 30 seconds.

Question 3

Are there local coffee roasters in St. Johns County?

Accepted Answer

Yes. A handful of cafes roast on site in and around St. Augustine, and several more pour beans from Northeast Florida roasters. Roasters typically sell whole bean bags for 16 to 24 dollars and some offer subscriptions and wholesale to local restaurants. Ask the barista where the beans come from and when they were roasted.

Question 4

What time do coffee shops open in Nocatee and Ponte Vedra?

Accepted Answer

Most open between 6 and 7 a.m. on weekdays to catch the commute and school run, and a little later on weekends. Drive-through lines at the big plazas on Nocatee Parkway, CR 210 and A1A are longest from 7 to 8:30 a.m. Closing times vary a lot, from 2 p.m. for small independents to 8 or 9 p.m. for places that serve evening drinks.

Question 5

Do cafes in St. Augustine serve breakfast and lunch?

Accepted Answer

Most serve pastries and breakfast sandwiches all day, and many add a short lunch menu of soups, salads, toasts and sandwiches from about 11 a.m. A few operate as full breakfast restaurants with table service. Kitchens at smaller cafes often stop food service an hour before close, so ask if you are arriving in the afternoon.

Question 6

Is it hard to find parking at downtown St. Augustine coffee shops?

Accepted Answer

Yes in the historic district, where street parking is metered and the garage by the Visitor Center is the practical option. Cafes in Lincolnville, on San Marco Avenue and on Anastasia Island usually have a few spots or easy street parking. On a morning walk it is often simplest to park once and visit on foot.
