I used to come to this salon regularly before moving out of state, so after moving back I decided to give Zen another try after visiting two other salons. Unfortunately, my recent experiences were disappointing enough that I won’t be returning. During my first visit back, I got a simple fill and cat eye polish with Michael. At first everything seemed fine, but I noticed there was no cuticle work or proper nail prep done beyond removing the old gel polish. Within a week, my nails already looked grown out. About a month later, I returned for a pedicure and another fill. The pedicure itself was fine, aside from a brief language barrier while explaining what I wanted, and the French design came out nicely. However, the fill appointment was a very poor experience. Michael drilled my acrylic down so thin that he suggested charging me for a removal and completely new set. Since I didn’t have time for that, I asked whether it was actually necessary, but the acrylic had already been over-filed to the point where it became unavoidable. I decided instead to remove the acrylic entirely and switch to a gel manicure. He didn’t seem happy with that decision. During the removal, he repeatedly used the drill on two visibly weak nails and ended up breaking one of them. He repaired it with nail glue and applied gel polish over it. It’s only been two weeks, and I’ve already had three nails break. Again, there was no cuticle work or proper prep done, and I didn’t leave with the design I originally asked for. I wanted a red gel base with a silver cat eye and nail art, but the appointment felt rushed and like my needs weren’t being listened to. This was also at 11 AM with only two other clients in the salon, so it did not seem particularly busy. It’s disappointing because I used to enjoy coming here, but after these experiences, I won’t be returning.
I've been coming here for over 6 years and here are photos I've taken of my sets throughout that time. My initial sets were kinda plain bc of my job but then I got to express myself again through nails and Lynn (Lein) has been a gift to me in this way. I loooooove nails and she has never let me down. Not to mention my eyebrows!! I will NOT let anyone else in the planet touch my eyebrows lol. I love her and although I do my own nails now, I HAVE to come to her ever so often to get my nails slayyyyed. It's so hard to find someone to do your nails the way you want and she has ALWAYS heard me and really learned what I like. That's hard to find. Thank you forever girl!!
Michael is an amazing nail technician! His work is always flawless, and he pays great attention to detail. Not only do my nails look beautiful every time, but they also last a long time without lifting or chipping. The pedicures are just as amazing thorough, relaxing, and leave my feet looking and feeling great. I’m always impressed by the quality, durability, and care he puts into every service. If you’re looking for someone who is talented, professional, and consistent, I highly recommend Michael. I always leave happy and looking forward to my next appointment! 💅✨👣
First time here! Phong was spectacular! He paid very close attention to cuticles on both my hands and feet. Ensured that shaping was exactly what I wanted. His attention to detail was very much appreciated. Definitely coming back and asking for him! I even learned how a little Vietnamese!
I had a very disappointing experience at this nail salon and will not be returning. When I came in for a basic pedicure, I was seated alone in a separate side room away from the other customers, which immediately made me feel uncomfortable and singled out. I was then assigned to someone who appeared inexperienced. A basic French tip pedicure took nearly two hours to complete, and the finished result wasn’t even what I asked for. While the technician was working on my nails, I noticed other employees walking by, looking over at me, laughing, and staring in my direction. Whether intentional or not, it made me feel embarrassed and uncomfortable.. and like they knew the service I was receiving wasn’t acceptable. To make matters worse, I was charged $53 for a service I was unhappy with. When I spoke with the woman at the front desk about my concerns, she was dismissive and rude. She told me if I didn’t want to pay, they could just remove the polish. At that point, I just paid because I didn’t want to argue. I left feeling completely disrespected and like customer satisfaction wasn’t a priority. This was easily one of the worst nail salon experiences I’ve ever had, and I won’t be returning. Just don’t go here One of the main barriers between the person who was doing my pedicure was he couldn’t speak English, so basically he had to talk to someone else every time I asked him something about my nails.
