The coolest spot on the A1A for sure. Little shack that serves up some great coffee and breakfast sandwiches. Simple menu with a bunch great items to pick and take to the beach. It was my go to coffee spot during my time in St. Augustine. Guys running the place were super friendly too. Stop by!
We were visiting Crescent Beach and looking for a spot to have breakfast! I did a quick Google search and found Zaba's near us. Upon entering, we saw a quaint breakfast / lunch spot with 3 tables inside, counter seating, and a picnic table outside. I ordered a breakfast bowl and my husband ordered the burrito. We enjoyed reading all the signs on the wall and talking to one of the owners. The breakfast bowl was full of potatoes, egg, meat, sausage gravy. The temperature of the sausage gravy could have been a little hotter, but the dish was delicious. My husband got the burrito, his only complaint was that it wasn't full of more food, but I loved it and would definitely get that again! My husband preferred my bowl and would get that again. We will definitely be back the next time we're in Crescent Beach!
This was my first time trying this little local gem on the island and it DID NOT disappoint! Had the breakfast burrito "disco style" with the ribeye and it was quite possibly perfect. Had a long drive back to Lakeland and it had all the flavor without any mess. The coffee was spot on a well. Thanks for making my drive home a little more enjoyable! I will definitely be back!
We stopped here for Father's Day breakfast and coffee after seeing so many great reviews. I really wanted to like this place. First, it's a very small café with only about 5–6 tables, including just one larger table. It has a quirky, eclectic atmosphere with lots of signs and decorations. The owner was friendly, personable, and genuinely seemed like a good guy, which made the experience even more disappointing. The coffee was the highlight of our visit, I'd give the specialty coffees an 8/10. If you're looking for a good cup of coffee to go, I'd definitely recommend stopping by. Unfortunately, the food was a completely different story. Throughout the hour we were there, all we heard was the microwave beeping and the door opening and closing. The food tasted like it had been reheated rather than freshly prepared. We tried one of the "recommended" bowls along with a breakfast burrito, and neither stood out. The bowl lacked freshness, flavor, and portion size for the price. The burrito was average at best, I honestly think I've had better from a gas station or a fast-food restaurant. The biscuits and "homefries" were probably a 3/10, and they pretty much summed up the overall food experience. Another issue was the ventilation. After sitting inside for about an hour, everyone's eyes, including mine, started burning from the smoke inside the café. Even my young son, who has never complained about something like that before, mentioned that his eyes were hurting. Overall, I'd rate this place 3 out of 5 stars. The owner is friendly, the atmosphere is unique, and the coffee is good. But if you're going for breakfast, I'd recommend eating somewhere else. To the owner: You have a great location, a welcoming personality, and a cool vibe. I think this place has a lot of potential, but the food needs a serious upgrade. Freshly prepared food would make a huge difference and would better match the quality of your coffee and the experience you're trying to create. Just keeping it real..
Small but fun shop serving breakfast sandwiches, breakfast burritos and coffee. Stopped in yesterday morning but was desperate for coffee and forgot to take pictures. I got the shaved steak, egg, and cheese breakfast bagel sandwich and my husband got the ham, egg, and cheese on toast as well as a sausage, egg, and cheese on toast, which I didn’t get a picture of. All were very good!! My black coffee was much needed and appreciated as well as delicious. My husband enjoyed his French vanilla iced latte. I absolutely recommend this place. Staff are so kind and the lady cooking can make eggs sing!!!
