Yard Genie Inc (Tyler) provided multiple landscape upgrades, ea. at a reasonable price and did an excellent job. Communcations were timely & effective and I plan on having them do additional work in the near future. Sevices provided included sod removal & replacement, mulched all beds with pine straw and constructed a decorative low retaining wall at my home.
Hired them to clean garden beds, plant some new plants, and mulch. I picked up some plants and they got one harder to find for me. Very thoughtful in their process, took all away all yard debris and carefully got the job done. No surprises, just good quality work as they quoted. Easy to communicate with and process the transaction. I am enjoying it immediately. Highly recommend!
We are so happy with the services from Tyler with Yard Genie! They made our house look beautiful. Easy to work with, fair pricing, and quick service. The entire front lawn was ripped out, replaced with sod, beds weeded and sprayed, and new much- all in 3 days!
I underwent surgery knee surgery in 2021 and was unable to service my own lawn for an extended period of time. Yard Genie presented a contract with estimate following inspection of my yard. I will include a photo copy of the contract to this review. The contract itself was printed from google. I know this because I googled the terms of the contract and found the exact one with slight modifications on the internet. I signed the contract during the day of the estimate and became a monthly prepaid customer of Yard Genie starting July 2021 through July 2022. Because of my longevity with the company, I have a detailed account of what the company offers. Positives Responsiveness. I needed a company to start quickly on my lawn while I was incapacitated. I was thankful they were able to start so quickly. Yard Genie was at the house within 24 hours to give an estimate, and started servicing my lawn that very week. Estimate was competitive with others. Tyler, owner of the company, was always very polite. Negatives Reliability. I was consistently having to ask why my lawn wasn’t completed. Their contract states they will service the lawn every 5 to 10 days during growing season, which in North Florida starts in Late March or Early April. They didn’t start coming more frequently until May. I know this because I again had to ask them when they would start honoring their contract since my lawn continued to look unkempt and neglected. Absent of any weather related issues, they continued to skip weeks of service. The week of July 4th holiday was beautiful. I was scheduled to have service on Tuesday, July 5th. This entire week was again skipped (not weather related) and thus, I had the pleasure of showing off my foot-tall, calf-height grass and weeds to my family members. I texted the company owner asking why my weekly service was skipped. I received no reply. This resulted in a total of 14 days in between mows. During non-growing season, I would go months without any service whatsoever. The contract states that during non-growing season, the team will visit once every two weeks to inspect and pick up leaves on an as needed basis. I never requested additional service so I didn’t expect anything mowed; however, inspections were never completed. Quality. There were visible areas where trimming was not completed. The corners of the yard next to my fence were frequently left high relative to the areas that were mower-accessible. I have plastic flexible drain spouts that flow away from my house and into the back yard. They didn’t bother moving the spout- just tried mowing around it. Unmowed and untrimmed grass remained under the spout. When it was trimmed, they again didn’t bother moving it and trimmed multiple holes in it, rendering it virtually useless. I had to replace the flexible spouts. They took a weed whacker to my plant bed in front of my house. The area was clearly a plant bed but was self-admittedly struggling and overrun with weeds. They failed to realize I had hydrangeas planted in this same area that did not survive the massacre. One the employees took a weed whacker to everything there. I’ll repeat, they weed whacked my hydrangeas. This practice certainly wasn’t completed to the accepted horticultural standards as stated in the contract. On one particular occasion they came on the same day as garbage service. My wife pulled the garbage can up from the street and put it on the yard. From there, I will usually come home and take it to the back yard. The team arrived before I got home and decided it wasn’t worth their time to move the garbage can two feet over to the driveway so they could mow. They mowed around it and left a long spot in the most visible part of my yard for the next week. Note, I do not write reviews about services or products unless I feel strongly about it. I feel strongly about this because the services I received were inconsistent with the contract signed.
I couldn’t be happier with the job Yard Genie did re-sodding my front yard. From start to finish, the team was professional, efficient, and incredibly detail-oriented. They revitalized my lawn into a beautiful green space that looks better than it ever has—and they did it all for a very fair price.
